Possible new Aesop Rock and Blockhead album soon. Add this to the snippet Aesop released recently that tagged Blockhead. Possibly.
Brian Ennals and Blockhead is out on the 17th this month so that's one of the releases. I suspect Aesop might be the other.
Billy Woods said in an interview last year that he was checking some Blockhead beats but that might not come to anything, or it might be a track here and there.
Just trying to piece the bits of evidence together really.
Could be nothing but Blockhead is dope either way so I'll check out anything he's releasing.
Do you agree that Aesop Rock is the most technical rapper ever and only Eyedea, Sadistik and Sage Francis come close?
reddit.comThe Space of All Possible Rhymes at MIT (feat Lupe, Nick Montfort, Elan Barenholtz)
We are hosting the very first Rap Theory Salon + Hackathon from July 17-19 at MIT: featuring a panel with Professors Wasalu "Lupe Fiasco" Jaco, Nick Montfort, and Elan Barenholtz. Moderated by Addy Cha from Ekkolápto.
This all started when we asked ourselves a fundamental question: what would happen if we brought together the most creative minds in music and rap, science and philosophy in a space where they had the freedom to truly experiment and test their strangest ideas?
We will be discussing: the combinatorial space of all possible rhythms and rhymes, music across different sensory modalities (think rap for the blind), the fundamental theory of rap, and much more. This is where neuroscience, biology, philosophy, music theory, computation, and mathematics meets rap in a way that it never has before.
There is very limited seating for the salon and hackathon. If you are interested in attending, PM me!
What other music do you guys listen to? Do you guys like any country? Not radio country..like charley crockett or Sturgill Simpson?..im weird with most people..I love jazz also.

Recommendations similar to Labor Days era Aes
Ever since I listened to Labor Days for the first time, it felt eerily familiar. Like I had heard it at least a couple of times in passing. However, since I was too young back then and my parents definitely weren’t listening to underground hiphop, I think it was probably just the style that felt familiar. Especially because, even though it felt familiar, I didn’t recognize any specific songs.
My question is: Can you recommend some albums by other artists that have a similar sound and feel?
Did Blockhead sample a scene from the movie Stargate (1994) for Aesop??
I'm currently watching Stargate, free on YouTube, and during one scene, I hear something so familiar to me that I stopped watching for the next 15 minutes to figure out where I've heard this from.
1:34:59 ... it starts quietly and is such a familiar tone ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsuY5dYxOCs&t=1s ) and only goes for about 14 seconds. I immediately know I've heard it from somewhere but can't recall where. I feel like it's from the song Oxygen but may be slightly altered on the track. It may be a different Aesop song I am thinking of, but it's not coming to mind right now, and it's driving me crazy lol. What Aesop song does it sound like to you?
Edit: 3hrs later ...
IT'S NOT OXYGEN; IT'S "SAVE YOURSELF" HAHA I KNEW IT!
Save Yourself .. 4:00 it starts
Are wire brushes actually dangerous?
Most of us have probably heard the dangers of wire bristles (getting stuck in your food) by now. But has anyone actually had any first-hand experiences of this happening? It seems like an old wives tale to me. Personally, I’ve used them for years with no issue. Sometimes I’ll use some foil or a different type of brush (on right in pic) but they just don’t work like the classic wire brush.
Remix of Roadwork Rappin'
I was looking for music to bridge a fairly large range of age gaps. Since me and my wife are huge Ace fans, she wanted me to include some of his work. I (semi) jokingly suggested Roadwork Rappin'. We had a good laugh, then looked at each other seriously and agreed it's actually big brain energy.
It started as a mashup, but started to grow in scope as I got into it. In the end, I'm pleased to say it worked perfectly. I was able to have the somewhat surreal experience of watching a decent crowd, including 80+ year old's dancing away, while the toddlers had to run off and grab road signs and toy trucks to come back and join in. More proof that Ace's music is timeless and magical. Anyway, I hope it's welcome to share this tribute here :)
