This isn’t a post about the downfall of quality of Tangiers. It’s still one of my favorites and I smoke it regularly.

I decided to try a new flavor, Surfers Delight, and I opened the package and took a whiff and thought ‘oh no not again’. It had this sweet, kind of sickly smell of rotten fruit. Very strong. My wife walked in the room and recoiled a bit and said it smelled like trash. And she’s right, it’s like when all the juices at the bottom of your trash can rot.

The thing is, it’s not the first time it’s happened. Guajava used to be one of my favorites, and then I got a bag that had almost the exact same smell. I figured bad batch, ordered another, same thing. I figured it was just regular guajava, ordered a different guajava, same thing. There another too, I want say maybe Mixed Fruit (?) that had the same thing. All almost identical, this sickly strong sweet smell of rotten fruit.

So by now I don’t think I’m just getting bad batches, it seems intentional. Do they, or does someone else, actually think these smell good? Am I the only one that’s noticed this? Guajava went from my daily rotation to being afraid to ever order it again.

I came across this a few days ago, pretty cool stuff. Rodney is super smart, says it about half way through. Other than that looped vocal in the background Living Curfew is a fantastic song.

I don’t mean to brag but I saw Aes and Sand perform this live, I want to say maybe 2016? I’ll never forget it
