18.5 years with my Paint. A horse I never thought I'd want because I always assumed every single one of them was crazy. From a bucking, arena-sour 3-year-old to riding Western, English, bareback, and trail blazing for 20 miles and sometimes purposely in the rain..and sometimes me riding backwards. He loves the water, midnight full-moon trail rides, and excels with archery. He's given many people who've never touched a horse the chance to trail ride into some of the most gorgeous national and state forests around. From young kids to older adults, this boy has been an absolute pleasure for anyone who's ever met him.
Florida heat called for something cold today. Soaked rolled oats in apple juice and some molasses. Added that for the first layer, along with some chopped carrots and apples. The second layer was apple juice and coconut water with more chopped carrots, then I froze it overnight. Later on, I broke out the new Jolly Hay Balls and stuffed some treats and hay for the boys. The goats also appreciated a cold snack today.
Not bad for a free horse for a late 25th birthday present!
He was too much of a personality for my friend to put up with. She had him trained for Western pleasure, and she wanted something quiet to just stand there. His barn name was Dennis the Menace...He was quick about turning on the water hose if put him in the wrong stall. He would untie himself and then go untie other horses, play with belt loops or zippers on a hoodie you name it. I love the personality that he has and wouldn't change it for anything.
We got along so well that after 3 months of working with him and riding him, she called me saying, "If you love the little shit, you have 2 hours to get him off my property or I'm selling him."
Happy birthday, Dallas!! 🐎🎂🎉🥳
Lifelong CVT looking to leave the clinical aspect. I have an opportunity to become a consultant and have been looking into all the details. I was initially told it was travel heavy by the company and the recruiter claimed I'd be home most nights. I'm down to travel that isn't the issue..but when asking what would constitute a day trip versus overnights I was told as many day trips as possible. I clarified a specific location and its 124miles (2+ hours) one way. This would be considered a day trip..making it 4-5 days a week rather than staying in a hotel. This area is very congested where I'd be expected to work and would take more than one week to cover that territory alone. I was under the assumption while working in areas with that kind of distance you'd just stay in the market and head home when finally done.
I was also quoted a salary with a base pay and all of the bonuses and compensation were roughly explained. The recruiter keeps talking about making 6 figures..but when given the full details you have to make your entire base salary in bonuses to get that figure. I was given a printout of the bonuses.. and with hopeful expectations you retain 97% of business to get a bonus (this is half of the base pay) if you retain 96% you lose 20% of your bonus..and if you only retain 95% of businesses you get no bonus. Is this normal? Seems like a lot to achieve for the bonus..otherwise in the end you end up at the base salary alone if they don't fire you. There's also a bonus if you make 60k in commission, a specific commission. And if you do, you get 2.78% of that 60k for $1,600.. is this normal?
I'm just curious as to what normally constitutes a day trip versus overnights if anyone is able to help out I would appreciate it. I was hoping for the company to give me a mileage or time distance to know what would make day/overnights but that did not happen. Thanks in advance.
I made sure to park as close as I could since the boys have been trying to get into the feed room lately.
Literally blocked with a giant fan barely leaving room for a large breed dog and this turd...
Oh and he wouldn't back out when I moved the fan he stepped over. I had to move the golf cart slowly and when doing so he thought to try to launch himself through/over top. Luckily I talked him out of that nonsense.
Sorry for the pics I blame the sun.
