Insights on owning Electric Car as Dartmouth Grad Student
Hey everyone, I’m an incoming Dartmouth grad student and trying to figure out how realistic it is to bring an EV to Hanover. Likely will be living at Summit on Juniper. Know they have some chargers at the property there, but wanted to know more about the winter time and daily practicality of EV ownership around Dartmouth.
How available/reliable is EV charging on or near Dart campus?
Do people usually charge daily, or is occasional Level 2/3 charging enough?
How much range loss should I realistically expect during winter?
Are there specific charging stations/networks people use around Hanover?
Honestly, is bringing an EV even worth it at all, or is leasing a gas car just way easier?
Would especially appreciate insight from anyone who owns an EV at Dartmouth or in the Hanover/Lebanon area.
