Perhaps its how they have this 'function over form' feel to them. I was recently building the front end for my company's ERP system. I took my inspiration from Windows Vista and although the site looks straight from 2009, it has a very serious feel to it. The fact that it's Next.js is funny to me. Like if McQueen popped Mater's bonnet and found a V12 engine lol
