Bro, why are so many Indian vets and pet clinics so bad?

I have a female , 2 years and 10 months old. She’s honestly my heart.

I got her when she was around 3 months old. She was dying at someone else’s home because they weren’t taking care of her properly. We took her in thinking she might survive only 4–7 days. Even the person who gave her to us said she probably wouldn’t make it.

But she survived. Absolute little sherni.

Last year she started having skin issues. We immediately took her to a vet near our home.

First visit:

₹2000 medicines

₹2500 tests

told to come back after 7 days

Next visit:

more medicines

more tests

around ₹5000–6000 total

After a month, her condition improved a little, so we thought everything was finally getting fixed.

Then after another month, the same thing started again.

Since the vet already knew my dog Khushi, we went back to him again. This time:

more tests

₹3000 medicines again

She recovered for a while, then after 3 months it came back again.

So this time we went to a different doctor.

That doctor rudely said: “Why did you come to me if you already go to another doctor?”

Then he suddenly said she has allergies, while the previous doctor said infection.

Again:

₹3400 worth of tests and medicines

forced us to buy from their dedicated store only

This was even at a government setup.

I genuinely felt pressured.

Then I consulted an online vet through video call. And bro… that guy identified the issue just by observing her and asking questions.

He prescribed:

2 medicines

one shampoo

That’s it.

Cost:

₹300 consultation

₹800 medicines

And she fully recovered.

What the hell?

Now after almost a year, Khushi has fever and weakness. She can barely stand properly.

We visited another doctor and the FIRST thing he did was write tests worth ₹7000.

Bro, her nose was literally blocked and he didn’t even notice properly before writing tests.

Medicines alone were around ₹1700.

Today she got even weaker.

Again they started talking about emergency treatments, saline, unnecessary spending, fear tactics, and promising she’d become okay “within hours.”

But nothing changed.

Why is this system like this?

I understand doctors need money. Fine. But why unnecessary tests, pressure, and panic?

People with lower income families — how are they even supposed to manage this?

Even I’m struggling financially because of all this, but Khushi matters more to me, so I’m somehow managing with overtime work and everything.

But it genuinely feels like many clinics emotionally pressure pet parents and take advantage of their fear.

Not saying all vets are bad. But some of these experiences have seriously destroyed my trust.
