Need help installing carplay screen on zx6r

Hey guys, I wanted to install a carplay screen on my motorcycle so I wouldn't need to have my phone out all the time. The manual says to plug it in directly to the battery, worried that it might drain the battery. ChatGpt says there is some sort of accessory wiring in the front of the bike? Has anyone done something like this before and have some advice? I have a 2024 ninja zx6r abs.

2024 Zx6r gold after market parts help

Hey guys, getting a used Black 2024 zx6r this weekend. I am going for a black and gold look similar to my last bike. I called my local Dealer who I've used for more motorcycle related things, but their parts stock was pretty limited. I'm basically looking for the following in gold color:

  1. Gold Clutch and break levers - I saw some from sixty1, ASV, CRG, but there are several versions and it wasn't super clear which one is best for the 24 zx6r. ( https://asvinventions.com/f3-series-sport-clutch-lever-crf342/, https://asvinventions.com/c5-series-sport-brake-lever-brc511/)

  2. Gold handle bar ends - was thinking of the Rizoma bar ends here:

  3. Gold grips - couldn't find gold ones, but looking at this yellow and black domino grips

  4. Gold pegs here

  5. Gold heel plates - some stuff I found on Amazon.

Would love some suggestions/advice from people who have has success, thanks.

2025 ZX-6R seat and peg suggestions

Hey guys, planning on getting a used ZX-6R. Going from a ninja 500. I'm 5'9" 180lbs. Was able to easily flatfoot my ninja 500 but have been reading about the ergonomics of the 6r. I am in the city but my daily commute is only like 25mins. I'm 29, so I don't think I should have the back and wrist pain most people talk about. I've also heard doing core exercises and using your legs can help with that.

While I know it's not the intended purpose of the bike, and since I'm not planning any track days right now, I've been thinking what options I have to maybe make it slightly easier to handle in the city:

  1. A seat that's more comfortable? Heard stuff like the saddleman gp-v1 can help make it more comfortable and maybe even reach the floor more? While I'm fine using 1 foot, id really like it if I could occasionally get to flat foot it with both feet to get some nice stretches in at stop lights.

  2. Heard there are foot pegs that reduce the knee angle a little, anyone have anecdotes of this and if it really helps?

  3. Heard helibars add an inch to the bars and can help with wrist pain. Not too big a fan of modifying the bike too much, does this affect the performance a lot? Some bike/physics people can probably shed light in how much of a difference it might make? Anyone have anecdotes/experience on this?

I'm not interested in lowering the seat. While I would be fine with small adjustments to get small QoL, I don't want to change how the bike performs or drastically change it. I know it's not supposed to be comfortable, but seeing if even some small changes can make it even a little better.

This bike is so hard to get

I like the Black/white+red color ways ( not a fan of the blue). Have called like 20+ dealerships. Can't find them anywhere. Even the couple blue ones have like $15k OTD price ( I'm in Northern Virginia).

FB marketplace has like no listings, likely because people really like the bike and it's new. I found only one listing which was a 2025 Blue r9 for $13k with 2000 miles, which I wasnt 100% sure was a good deal.

All I want is a black r9 for around $14k, a man can dream. Guess I'll have to wait a couple years until the stock picks up.

In the meantime I hope all of you who managed to get one find hair in your food ( just kidding, have fun riding).

Zx6r insurance

I'm thinking of getting a 2026 Ninja Zx6r or a 2026 Yamaha R9. I'm 29 years old. Been riding in the US for about 2 years. I have several years of 2 wheeler experience in Asia, but let's not count that for insurance purposes.

I called progressive where I currently have my Auto insurance policy and had my old policy for my 2024 Ninja 500 ( I sold it a month ago and hence cancelled the policy), for which I was paying around 61$ a month. My record is pretty clean apart from a 'failure to obey a highway sign' earlier this year while driving my car. Was going 61 on a 55, VA police are brutal.

Below are the notes I took for a 12 month quote:

  1. 2026 Ninja zx6r - 3437$

\- 426 liability

\- 582 uninsured motorist

\- 837 comprehensive ( theft)

\- 1581 collision

\- 11 fees

  1. 2025 Ninja zx6r - 3147$

  2. 2026 Yamaha r9 - $4105

I asked them for more details on my old policy:

  1. 2024 Ninja 500 - 712

\- 133 liability

\- 261 uninsured

\- 108 comprehensive

\- 210 collision

Basically the cost of insurance is like a 3rd of the bike per year. How are people paying these prices, seems insane. I understand there are a bunch of squids, but even then. I'm curious on peoples thoughts on the following:

  1. Rather get a used bike for around 8k

  2. Get the liability insurance ( needed by state and can get expensive)

  3. Skip the Uninsured motorist coverage, my city is pretty educated and well off mostly, so I think the chances of encountering someone uninsured is low

  4. Mixed feelings about the comprehensive coverage, again live in a safe county, so hoping this is low but still can occur, maybe worth the trade off?

  5. Skip the collision coverage, I mostly use it to commute to work with low traffic, and if I ever do get in an accident, I take the L and pay to fix the bike, and I assume my medical insurance covers any damage to my body?

Tldr: Should I get 1. just the liability insurance 2. Liability and comprehensive 3. Full coverage
