Oil Level after Oil Change

Oil Level after Oil Change

Put in the recommended 3.2L (changed filter too) and was WAY overfilled. Ended up removing about 450ml to get to this level. Do I need to remove anymore at this point? Measured with the bike upright and rested for 5 min after a short ride.

First time changing oil on the r9 as the second owner, surprised only about ~1.5L drained out. Warmed it up for 5 min and let it fully drain too!

Custom USB pull cable for dash

Just pull the cable out and push it back in when you’re done. I used an 11/16th t grommet from Amazon, and a dremel cut an oval shape into the grommet cord hole so the USB c head sits nicely. The cable slack slides into the fairings although requires some force

2026 R9

I’m picking this beauty up on the 10th, I’m so stoked 😁 Anything I should know? I’m coming from a Ninja 650 I’ve been riding for 2 years.

Swapping to 190/55 rear

As the title suggests, I want to know if the upgrade is worth it in the future. I am currently running Pirelli Diablo Corsa 4s in the standard 180 size and I am thinking of getting 190 Supercorsas for track due to recent suggestions. Currently only riding on the street and I am planning to do track days soon. I've heard that upgrade to 190/55 or 190/60 would be better for handling, I am unsure if that is true, thus the question. Why would R9 be factory 180 if 190 improves the handling? Thanks!

Anyone go from the R7 to the R9?

I’ve had my 2025 r7 for about a year now and I’m thinking o about upgrading. I have about 11k miles (17.7k Km) on the bike and have done mostly commuting and some canyon runs on the weekends. My favorite thing about the R7 is how slim it is, which makes it incredibly easy to maneuver between cars while lane splitting since most of my time driving it is on the freeway. My question is, has anyone upgraded from the R7 to the R9 and felt it more difficult to lane split being a slightly wider bike?

I’d really like to upgrade for that bit of extra power on the highways.

Does anyone regret their upgrade and wish they chose a different bike in the class? I’m also considering the GSXR750.

Is the R9 a good choice for longer rides that also involve sharp corners? How aggressive is the pose?

Hello, I have a question about the R9. I'm going to look at one tomorrow and I'm considering buying one. But I'm afraid of the seat. I've ridden an MT07 so far, and I'm afraid it will hurt my wrists and back. I like to enjoy riding, I go through corners quickly, but I like to slow down in the middle and enjoy a normal, calm ride. My competitor is the Triumph Street Triple 765RS. Does anyone have any experience with longer rides on the R9, for example a trip of 200-300km per day?

What do I do with my stock exhaust?

I don’t want to keep it, it’s just taking up space in my garage. I can’t imagine why anyone would wanna buy a stock exhaust but should I just sell it on Marketplace or something?

I had the chance to take this beauty for a test ride

..I just called the dealership, and I’m gonna pick one up myself on Friday in all black.

Coming from a V4 Tuono, but instantly fell in love with this one. Gonna be my first Yamaha, very excited.

Question..

Will these be ok for my 2026 r9?

It's my second bike, and other then an exhaust, I've never bought any other mods for a bike.

I'm in Australia if that makes any difference.

Finally! A way to mod the R9 winglets

The new Monster Fairings drop for the R9 seems to have a different style for those (IMHO) horrible looking winglets.

I'm very curious to see how they look once installed.

Thoughts?

Edit: I see it now. It's the same style winglets as stock.

Now excuse me, I'll go home and be sad.

Aftermarket Fairings

How long has Monster Fairings had kits for the R9 available? I've been waiting forever for this, I'm so excited!

How do you contact JL Desings?

I have been trying to contact them using the number posted on the website with no success. Have you had better luck recently?

Also, have you ordered recently from their website? How was your experience with shipment and/or customer support?
