Moving Heavy Amps / Stairs

Reddit does not have "flair" that says, "Are you sure you want this public" but here goes.

At 60+ years old I am dreading hauling the 70+ pound 7 channel NAD amp and other big equipment up my current stairs to move from one house to another location across town.

I don't feel like using 80 feet of bubble wrap and cardboard boxes.

I have considered a light duty dolly, but the Misses might not like that on the new carpet.

And I don't really trust movers either.

Anyone have any slick tricks or sage counsel on moving the heavy amps n stuff up a flight of stairs?

Thanks in advance.

Room Set Up Suggestions Please

New to this group. About to move into a different home, basement is unfinished, so my options are fairly abundant.

I am considering a dedicated media space, for music only, mostly 2 channel.

How big of a space would you recommend -- ceilings will be just under 9 feet; mostly for me and maybe 2 other people max in a main listening position.

12 feet by 12 feet? Other?

For context, I have very old but functional Paradigm Studio 100s, dedicated amps, an Anthem MRX 1140, 2 smaller SVS subs, and high-definition music via Quobuz. Some old school CDs will occasionally serve up content as well.

What else would you suggest I consider -- i.e. flooring, carpet or hard surface?

Wall treatments for acoustics? What budget for acoustic panesl?

Anything else? Thank you in advance for input / feedback.

Should My HT Room and Golf Sim Share A Wall? Feedback Please

Hi all -- I am cross posting for more feedback – Golf Sim and Home Theater threads.

I am at the beginning of a journey to finish my basement. I have a space about 27 feet wide by 25 feet deep. Picture for reference

One 27-foot side will be more open to halls and stairs – the opposite is closed foundation.

One 25 foot side is closed foundation – the opposite will be a wall and the on the opposite side of that wall is a separate, good sized spaced for storage and mechanical

One iteration I’m considering, the pink circle around a future wall guides my questions.

This wall could become BOTH side of a boxed in golf simulator AND the screen or TV side of a Home Theater room.  Both would be fed with overhead projectors.

The storage and mechanical side (toward the bottom of the picture) could serve as media racks and control centers so to speak – the only items visible would be the PC and input to run the golf sim software and maybe a small screen laptop to see Home Theater settings selected from a universal remote.

Most of the speakers will be in wall, except maybe a couple of towers on either side of the screen.

Granted, this picture is far from perfect… I tried to show the Main Listening Position for movies and where media racks could be as well.

So, what feedback do you all have on the overall concept of these rooms sharing this common wall?  Assume that no simultaneous golf sim play and home movie watching occurs.

What doesn’t make sense?

What does?

What else would you consider?

I’d say as our nest empties, there is less and likely to be less home theater usage.

On the downside, this treatment probably does not help re-sale value overall – for the right buyer, yes; for many, not a chance.

Many thanks for your feedback in advance.
