FINALLY got one yesterday!!

FINALLY got one yesterday!!

i’ve been looking for one of these for a while now. bc OOS availability anytime i looked, i opted to get the google tv streamer 4k when it went on sale a couple months ago. the google streamer works perfectly fine.

but after using this ONN 4k pro for a day, you can tell the difference in speed. i click on apps and its almost instantaneous in how fast they open. i had been checking for stock of these at least a couple times a day and randomly saw availability yesterday at my local store here in SoCal (they acc had 10+).

still gonna keep the google streamer bc got it for almost the same price, but these ONN devices are legit and worth it!

Bought open-box Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor from BB, got full refund 1yr later

i’d like to start this post off by saying i heavily used reddit and other sources during my research in buying this monitor and it helped A LOT, so if this post helps even one person out there, i’d feel awesome :)

mostly bought this for console gaming on PS5. i was very overwhelmed with all the great options out there a yr ago, stumbled on this particular one which had great reviews, mainly praising picture quality which was important to me. realized i was brushing over some of the negatives like occasional flickering problems, customer support, etc. but as a previous samsung user, thought id give it a shot (boy was i wrong lol)

as seen in pic, it was an excellent condition open-box but noticed missing parts in box, minor scratches on outer shell. i registered the product online and thankfully, noticed i still had a limited 1yr manufactures warranty. after about 7 months, i experienced major problems with screen flickering when changing between apps in PS5 and tv menus as well as the screen just going all black for 2-6s sometimes too.

contacted customer service, detailed ALL problems very clearly to them. firstly, they tried fixing/troubleshooting over phone, didn’t work. then sent out to repair center in NJ for first time. received it back and on the same day i set it back up, same problems persisted but even worse sometimes now. contacted them again and they deemed the monitor “unable to be repaired” once shipped back to them for a 2nd time now. after about 2-3 months of constant back-and-forth, finally received a full refund while also being given an option for replacement which i didn’t take.

the worst part about it all, dealing with their customer service reps. the amount of hurdles i had to jump through just to get someone actually knowledgeable to listen to my issues and actually move the process forward towards a refund was absolutely debilitating and frustrating. you really just have to advocate for yourself and stand by your words if you end up having to deal with them through their limited warranty, which is obviously not a huge surprise.

i always thought highly of samsung as a tv/monitor brand given some of the recognition and awards they receive, not to mention having owned a tv of theirs myself yrs ago which worked great for many years.

at the end of the day, im still extremely grateful i got the outcome i was hoping for, but was in no way prepared or expecting to go through such a horrible experience to get it.
