Recently bought this earlier in the week and noticed that it wasn't switching to HDR on Netflix or Youtube. It passes Dolby Vision ok and my TV makes the switch, but HDR content doesn't make my TV switch to HDR. I do get a lil HDR logo from the Streamer itself, but my TV stays in SDR mode.

I don't have this problem with my Apple TV.

Can anybody with the new pro streamer confirm? I currently have it set to match dynamic range.

The dam thing has never been available anywhere near me in Lower Delaware or Maryland.

Hi, I have what is probably one that could go in about half a dozen sub reddits, but I will start here.

I am trying to use an onn 4k streaming device to play a folder (or a folder of folders) of video files on a random loop for at the very least, 10 hours at a time, but essentially 24/7 is the goal. My current set up is that I put all the files into one folder instead of sub folders, shared that folder in my Nord meshnet, downloaded NordVPN and VLC media player on my on 4k streaming device, I then access and play the single folder of all the videos on shuffle.

the problem is that there is a lot of buffering, like an unbearable amount, every few second it freezes.

My original set up was to just use my laptop and an HDMI cable but it is no longer convenient to do this with my laptop, my last resort will be to buy a cheap used laptop and go back to this way of streaming, but it would be really awesome to save the money and have a more streamlined set up.

Any help or even a point in another direction if this is not the right sub is greatly appreciated!

I live in Canada and will be travelling to the US this weekend. I know the units are blocked for US use only but previous versions allowed use in Canada provided you set it up in the US. Is that the case with the new 4K?

So, five times a day I check the Walmart website and nothing. I live in the North East (New Jersey.) When am I going to be able to get a 4K pro? This is getting ridiculous. Apparently everyone in California has three of these things and for months I can't get one. And why will Walmart only ship from a store within walking distance of my house? How can it be in stock for delivery on the West Coast, but they can't ship it here? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

Been checking for one for the past few weeks to use when I'm traveling, and it's been out of stock. Suddenly I see it online and a few stores nearby but it's $49.98 sold by Walmart. Is this a new device or just a price increase from $39.98?

Is anyone else having issues with 4k videos stuttering? I dont know how to fix it permanently, temporarily I just play videos in 1080p and that seems to stop it.

I have seen conflicting reports/statements about this topic but wanted to get confirmation from actual owners of the new Pro.

Does it support Dolby TrueHD audio like the NVIDIA SHIELD? It seems like the SHIELD is the only option on the market for TrueHD audio (feel free to name other alternatives as well if they support it).

It would be nice if the newest version of the Onn 4K Pro supports it.

Got the Google tv Onn streaming 4k stick from Walmart. After setting it up I went to add my Xfinity streaming app and it’s not compatible with Google tv. Unbelievable. It automatically bricked itself and it’s going back to Walmart. Really disappointed in both Comcast and Google it’s about time they both learned how to play together. Note to self when buying a new streaming stick check out that it has all the apps I want before I buy it.

I would like to hear peoples opinions on why the ONN 4K Pro is a better purchase than the Google TV Streamer. I know the ONNs have had all the hype for the past months. Is it any better or is it just that everyone wants what is hard to get?
I have both and am evaluating them to see which one to stick with and which one goes back to the store.

Edit: A lot of people have mentioned the difference in price. The Google TV Streamer I purchased was 25% off last month. Which makes it about $17 more than the Pro 4K. I doubt the ONNs will ever go on sale.

I bought the ONN Google TV 4K Plus Streaming Device a few months ago and was just curious to know if I’m using it to its fully abilities!

Here is what I know I have done so far with it:

1. Got the Downloader app (I don’t 100% understand it. I’ve seen other people talk about getting file managers and stuff and I didn’t understand the point)

2. I got the Projectivity Launcher and followed some steps on there. I’m not entirely sure what it can do.

3. I got Stremio and linked my RealDebrid account. I have noticed people talking about using different players like VLC Player and I didn’t understand that. I also don’t know what add-ons are must haves and why.

I’m not entirely sure what all else there is to do. I saw some people talking about downloading LocalSend on my phone and the streaming device itself but that kind of went over my head. I didn’t understand how people actually download stuff on their phone and transfer it over.

All in all, I would highly appreciate any tips/tricks/advice/suggestions/knowledge/etc on what to download, settings, to change, add-ons, or whatever else you can provide.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I’m a 24 year old newer to all of this stuff!

I have a mini USB dongle keyboard used to work on my ONN 4k Pro box. Plugged it in to update my IPTV, but it won't work anymore. It's fully charged and works fine on my computer. Did one of the updates to the box break it? The USB port works with my thumb drive so I know that's working. Anybody use one of these.

I have neither devices but I'm thinking about getting an ONN so I can retire my fire tv stick. My main concern with the Google TV streamer device would be Google itself as a company. Its main revenue model is advertising and collecting data. I think at some point the ads and data collection will take over. I have used neither devices so I don't have a deep understanding of each. What do people think about this concern?

I am able to make passthrough work on Official Kodi (Omega) with the original, first-generation 2021 model of the onn. 4K Streaming Box (Model 100026240). However, I am not able to make it work on the 2023 model of the onn. 4K Streaming Box (with Google TV - Model 110125667) and on the newest Onn Plus device.

I I've read somewhere online that the old box had an open audio chip that easily sent out surround sound. The new box uses a cheaper chip with a strict software layer that blocks official Kodi's outdated audio language, causing total silence. I could not use external players (like Just Player) because it only works for local files, but instantly crashed on streaming add-ons. I have also tried with Kodinerds Maven Build on the 2023 Android box and the newer Android box, and the same issue.

Wondering if there's something I'm missing in terms of setup on Kodi or on the Onn device that's causing this? All the Onn devices are up to date on OS and security updates. Soundbar is connected to TV using HDMI-ARC. All the Onn devices have the same settings, same on Kodi.
