I'm unable to turn on the Onn 4K Pro 2026 via the power button the remote if the unit has been off for a couple of hours. I've tried turning off the Android systems shutdown timer. The LED on the Onn 4K is red the entire time I'm attempting to turn it on via the remote's power button or just pressing bunch of other buttons on the remote.
On my unit, the LED is red when it's off (but plugged in), but it's also red when it's on and being used. The LED only turns white during power up process, then turns red again after power up.
I do have Projectivy installed and using that as my main launcher.
If I turn off the Onn via the power button on the remote, wait a few minutes, and then press the remote's power button again, it works to turn on the Onn. But if I wait a longer like 2 hours, the power button on the remote no longer turns on the Onn.
Is this a me problem? I don't see any other people having the issue.
I've read the Onn 4k Pro cannot play truehd natively and has to transcode. I'm wondering if there's any kind of workaround so it doesn't transcode. Everything else I have direct plays fine. I have a few dozen movies with truehd and would prefer not to have to redownload them. Suggestions?
I just set up my onn 4k pro box & im already having issues. In the middle of watching something it starts making this staticy noise & like a repetative sound for a few mins then the box resets. Anybody have any idea what can be wrong? I just got it & hooked it up today. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
Sometimes when I power on my Tv. The box goes to a lower resolution. 4K in settings disappears. I have to unplug the HDMI from the box to force it back. Anyone have this issue?
Hey All, I have a new Onn 4k Pro on the way. Which launcher do you find superior for this device? Projectivy or AT4K? Which do you find to be more seamless and smooth of an experience? I can find youtube videos on each launcher but not a good one specifically comparing the two. I'm looking for the smoothest and fastest experience.
looking at replacing my fire stick regular with one of these as mine keeps dieing.. besides the price and 4k vs 1080p, what are the actual differences between them? looking primarily between the $29.98 and $39.98 ones but could also go for the $49.99 box.. I don't need 4k resolution just want more cpu and ram as my tv isn't 4k
Thank you to the people that suggested me to wait until 12 am and look around I saw there was some in stock 30 minutes away from me and I set that order to pick up and got it. My long search is finally over! Thank you to all for the suggestions. I hope you find yours too faster than I ever did.
As the title says, just set up my new 4K Steaming Pro v2 and noticed picture quality was a bit off. I checked and resolution is at 1080 by default and if I try to manually change it loses Dolby Vision.
For reference I have tried diff HDMI cables and rebooting and it still is the same.
I have Dolby Vision mode to source led in 1080p but option disappears when I switch to 4K
I have match content dynamic range enabled and have match content frame rate to always.
My TV is a 77 LG C6H.
Appreciate the help. Thank you
I havent been able to find one in a month. Not a single one. How do you guys even find any of them in stock i've been checking the app going to the stores in the morning and had zero luck.
Hi Reddit. Ive heard so much good stuff about the Onn 4k pro that its making me want to get it shipped to where i am currently in the UK. I have a cousin in canada that could possibly buy one for me. How would the process look like? Would i still be able to use it? Would my cousin have to set it up before sending it over?
I live on the east coast. No Wal-Marts easily accessible. I’ve been trying to purchase one of these for a couple of months.
Finally got one last night. Traveled to Morgantown, WV for a wedding and the night before we left I searched that location. They had ONE available for pick-up, so I purchased then picked up the next day after arriving in WV.
TLDR: If you’re traveling, check the stock where you’re going.
I don’t think I’ve always had this issue, but for months now with my Bravia 7 TV if I launch an app like HBO Max, it won’t be in DV even when it’s content labeled as DV. So I change the “Match content dynamic range” to off or on, I actually think it’s just whatever it isn’t currently set to, and then DV will work in the app. But then when I’m done with the app, my TV is stuck in DV no matter where I go. So then I have to toggle that match content dynamic range setting again.
I’ve tried fiddling with various display settings and I can’t get it to just switch to DV when it should, and switch back to SDR when I’m not playing DV content, especially in the menus and home screen.
Does anyone know how to fix this, or if there’s even a fix at all?
When I connect atvTools, these are the screenshots of the memory utilization of my Onn 4K Plus at idle and when watching a movie.
Is this an indication that I should upgrade to the Pro V2 which has an additional GB of RAM?
My first 4k Onn. box, for purchasing movies and tv. Obviously. 👍
Do they still make the gray version. I bought 2 of the black version, and always see them in stock, but I have yet to see the grey version in stock anywhere.
Primary use case: Nuvio with ffmpeg audio processing engine and built in ExoPlayer.
If I understand currently, this combination is converting all unsupported audio codecs (e.g., TrueHD 7.1, DTS:X) to lossless LPCM which the box can still passthrough to the sound system. Is that a correct understanding? I read through various posts and they keep claiming the Onn 4K Pro V2 is really weak in terms of audio codec handling via built in ExoPlayer. But assuming I am using Nuvio's ffmpeg software decoding with built in ExoPlayer (Nuvio allows you to configure that hybrid mode), I still get lossless LPCM?
If the above is true, is it fair to assume that Onn 4K Pro V2 has identical sound quality compared to using Infuse on Apple TV 4K because Infuse also does lossless software decoding to produce LPCM as Apple TV 4K does not support lossless audio passthrough for TrueHD and DTS:X?
BTW, I own both Apple TV 4K latest gen and Onn 4K Pro V2. The Onn 4K seems superior to me on picture front. I was using Fusion on Apple TV 4K (with Infuse set as an external player in Fusion) until recently but Fusion got removed from Apple App Store. I am asking the LPCM question as I am debating if I should order a Samsung Q990H sound system and wondering if the LPCM sound quality would be identical on Onn 4K Pro V2 vs Infuse on Apple TV 4K or I still need to figure out something else.
I've tried editing buttons to enable Screenshot on the 4k plus remote and when I try to screenshot it just do the default action of the button.
Fairly new to these devices as a whole and boy I've been missing out...so much to learn. I have a 2024 Onn 4k Pro that I bought earlier this year (wish I knew about the new 2026 version coming out) for my living room and it works great. I want to buy a secondary Onn for my office. I have a 3 monitor set up and watch a lot of sports while working at night. I would be plugging in either the 4K plus or 4K stick into one of them (4K monitor) and I want it to double as a travel companion in case I want to watch sports/netflix at a hotel. Will the 4k stick work fine for my use case or is the added size and power of the 4K plus worth it? I like the smaller footprint of the 4K stick but with a device so small I am wondering if it lacks speed/power/heat?
I was pretty surprised to see this. I already have my TVs equipped so figured I'd share here
