Medical Care

What is the deal with medical care in Scranton?

A hospital discharged me after 11 days treatment for an infection in my leg, transitioning me from IV to oral antibiotics. Only they never cultured my wound, and two days post discharge I couldn’t walk again. Turns out a culture revealed a pathogen that NONE of the antibiotics they used were effective against — and a simple culture would have revealed that fact. All they did was knock it back a little bit and not eradicate it. How did three separate infectious disease doctors, two hospitalists, an orthopedist, and countless nurses never think to perform a wound culture?

Take anything serious down to Allentown or Easton — or New York or Philly. You’re not going to get well here.

Banned by r/Roku

I caught a permanent ban in r/Roku for telling the truth about their shitty products. If you use that sub, you better censor yourself. If you start to tell the truth, they’ll just kick you out.

Parking issue

I have a neighbor they’re very nice. They don’t have a driveway that fits more than one car and they have two cars so they park the second car across the street from the exit to my driveway. It’s almost like they’re lining up their car across the street against my driveway‘s exit. I wanna say something to them, but I don’t wanna be a jerk about it. It just makes it really difficult for me to get my car out and my street is really busy because it’s a thoroughfare between Marywood and 81. What’s the best way to handle this? I’d appreciate some advice.

Hello! Glad to have found you, and it’s splendid to be here!

I’m two rpisodes in and u absolutely no trouble pretending it’s in London! I’m so delighted that i bought a TV licence - the tv feels better knowing I’m not facing a £1.000 fine if I were to be caught.

Thanks for reading. I hope you’ve all had a lovely day

New to ONN & quite happy!

I replaced a Roku Ultra (2023) with a new ONN 4K Plus (2025) and I’m very happy! This is my first experience with Google TV but so far it’s great. It has everything I had on the Ultra plus a few new (to me) channels AND I get the delightful feeling of flipping Roku the bird for selling out to Fox!

Dumped Roku for ONN/Google

After literal YEARS of frustration with Roku changing my Home Screen, unhiding things I’ve chosen to hide, and changing my display scheme and screensavers, I have finally cut that cord! I’ve ditched my 2023 Roku Ultra and replaced it with a 2026 ONN 4K + Pro. I couldn’t be happier. The display makes sense, it auto-detected everything, migrated my apps very easily, and aside from the standard gentle nudging you get to subscribe to new apps at inception, so far it hasn’t jammed anything down my throat. It just works extremely well.

I undertook this move because of the purchase of Roku by Fox, and the only way I have to express my unhappiness is to vote with my wallet. Fortunately it added some value by giving me some new features I didn’t have previously. That’s a big win in my book!

I have yet to find a feature available in the Ultra that is unavailable in the ONN box. I’ve searched, but can’t find anything!

Green Ridge Boundary?

I’m on Fairfield St off N.Washington. I say my place is in Green Ridge. My buddy says anything on the Throop side from Morel St over isn’t Green Ridge - it’s Fairfield Park. We have a case of Yuengling riding on this, so hopefully you long term residents can settle this one?
Thanks a bunch!

Genre Pack Rocls

I’m on the News genre pack (~$41/month) and it’s honestly the closest I’ve come to what I’d really love - à la carte TV. I’m not paying outright to subsidize things I don’t watch, and the mix of channels I’m getting for the cost, feels only slightly too high.

EERO Pro 6E network with three units, 1,400 sq dot home, 2 stories.

Certain machines can authenticate and connect to my eero network, but we get a message that the connection is secured, but no Internet available even though there’s nothing wrong with our Internet connectivity. The same machines can connect to a second network that I have created that is bridged off of the EERO network and they work flawlessly. I’m scratching my head over this one. Any help appreciated - thanks.
