Received brand new Onn 4K Pro 2026 from Walmart today with a weird third party remote.
It seems to be a TiVo 4K stream remote and original onn remote is missing. Any one has an idea how to operate this thing ? I am stuck in the first step which is pairing the remote. Any chances of getting this thing to work ?
PS : I got a full refund for this device from Walmart. So if I get this to work, it's a bonus.

Any feedback on Retail Packaging and Extended Warranty?
I've been checking online for the new 2026 model of the Onn 4K Pro Streaming Device for quite a while and my local store finally had three in stock yesterday afternoon. I ordered one immediately and it was delivered with Walmart+ at 8:15am this morning. When I opened the shipping package, I noticed the retail box is not sealed or shrink wrapped. Is that normal for the Onn Streaming Devices?
I opened the box and the device and remote appear to have the factory self-seal plastic on, so it doesn't appear to be a return. But it made me second guess myself about not getting the extended warranty. I didn't pick it up because I had purchased a 2 year warranty on an office chair from Walmart and Allstate wouldn't honor it in the last 6 months of the warranty. But since I'm not familiar with the Onn devices or their failure rates, I'm regretting not spending the $6/$10 dollars for a 2/3 year warranty. Any feedback from users on the reliability of the Onn streaming devices or experiences with Walmart extended warranties on electronics?
I read that since there is a 30 day return period, I can take it back to customer service and they will refund it and immediately resell it to me where I can add the warranty. Anyone had experience with that process?

Wondering if someone can help me with video stutter?
I have a couple Onn boxes in my house. One just regular 4k stremer and one Onn 4k pro (2026). The regular 4k streamer does just fine but when I stream using paid streaming services like HBOMax or Peacock, I get these frame stutters every 5-10 seconds or so. You can see it in the video. It drives me insane and I cant figure out how to fix it.
My setup is-
Onn box Pro 4k (2026)
Samsung S90d
1Gbps symmetrical internet. (Though doing a speedtest with the Onn I am averaging about 400-500 Mbps up and down.)
All of this should be perfect for 4k streaming especially when HBO and Peacock are compressed. Stremio does not have this happen over the network though and those files can be 30-40gb sometimes.
I am using Projectivity Launcher. I have tried setting the "match frame rates to source material) to all three setting to no avail. Seamless, Never, Always. All produce the same result. Ive tried clearing the cache of the apps and force stops all of them before trying again. Pretty much thats what Google told me to do. Also no success. I am at a loss.
Does anyone know how to fix this before I lose my mind??

Hello, I have a chromecast that I use to display my choosen photo album on my TV. This is called ambient mode on the chromecast. I have another TV in our restaurant that I want to display photos and menus on in a slideshow format. Will the Onn HD stick work for this purpose? Thank you so much.
