Another Power Keyboard review

Ordered January 5, shipping notice July 15 and received July 23 from Canada. Typing on it now.

Primarily using with my iPhone 15 Pro and typing is fine using the BlackBerry prayer method but typing while reclined doesn’t work well. The wobble is there but I don’t notice it unless I look for it. Power Keyboard does slightly block the main camera lens on the 15 Pro. I also tried it on my wife’s S22U and it completely blocks on of the lenses. Keyboard was usable with it but the bottom of the phone is awfully close to the number row.

Typing experience is probably closer to the old Curve than Bold series with the keyboard being a little more tactile than soft like the Bold. Muscle memory is still good but don’t expect to be faster on it than a touchscreen although I do enjoy the accuracy and overall feel.

Overall I like it and might buy a second gen version of it if and when this keyboard dies out. It’s a good product marred by an inconsistent delivery experience but the typing experience has me curious about the Communicator now.

Do not get the Power keyboard if your phone is “heavy”

The Power Keyboard will not stay open if your phone is too “heavy”. I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max and I use the DBrand ghost case.

Contacted support, apparently this is normal, have been ghosted for my return request. Quite disappointed.

3 weeks with the Power Keyboard... the paint is already coming off

The 'sym' key's edge already has light leaking through the paint. This happened with my Pixel 9 Keyboard Case but I didn't expect this to happen so very soon with this!!!!

Am I only one satisfied with the PK?

This subreddit seems very whiny lately

I got my PK and I must say I am pretty okay with it. This is with Pixel 9 Pro Fold, so by no means a thin and light phone.

Yes, it doubles the thickness of the phone. Yes, it looks very awkward. Yes, it's a bit heavy to hold (although a lot more useable than some on this subreddit are expressing). Yes, it randomly closes on its own from time to time. It's definitely far from perfect.

But in the end it achieved exactly what I wanted: a physical keyboard attached to my phone that is small enough to still be (barely) pocketable. I love typing on this thing much more than on the touchscreen (typed this with it. I would never type anything more than a sentence or two with touch). I love navigating the UI with just a keyboard (especially amazing with the Vimium browser extension).

I switched from the Titan 2 to the Clicks Power Keyboard

https://youtu.be/ul0t6tHn4fs

I finally got my Clicks Power Keyboard after backing the project on the day it was announced (January 2, 2026)!

As a long-time physical keyboard fan, I've been using the Unihertz Titan 2. However, because it doesn't support FeliCa (mobile payments and transit cards in Japan), I also had to carry a Unihertz Jelly 2 every day.

Could the Clicks Power Keyboard finally solve that problem?

In this video, I share my honest thoughts after using it, compare it with the Titan 2, and explain why I believe this is the ideal physical keyboard solution for modern smartphones.

Unlike traditional keyboard phones, the Clicks Power Keyboard lets you keep using the latest flagship smartphone while enjoying a real physical keyboard. Even when you upgrade your phone in the future, you only need a new compatible case—not an entirely new keyboard phone.

My experience with my preorder and cancellation

Here is my experience. Make of it what you will. I will refrain from commentary.

Pre-ordered a Clicks Power Keyboard in Onyx on January 15th. $79, Batch 1.

Feb 5 -- emailed asking when it would ship. Got three separate replies in the same thread on the same day. Two said spring. One said pre-orders don't have an official release date.

Feb 28 -- followed up. Same response about spring.

Mar 11 -- asked for a refund. Ticket was auto-closed for "no further updates."

Mar 20 -- told Batch 1 would ship early May.

May 6 -- followed up. Told Batch 1 shipping in May and I'd get tracking when it ships.

May 24 -- followed up. Told it was being routed to the team.

May 27 -- told shipping extended into June.

Jun 13 -- followed up. Told I'd get tracking "very soon."

Jun 15 -- followed up again. Same thing.

Jul 11 -- asked for a refund or tracking number.

Jul 13 -- told orders were being fulfilled chronologically. Offered to cancel. I said yes, refund my order.

Jul 14 -- had to follow up again. Order finally cancelled.

July 24 -- finally got refund after 2 emails requesting refund.

Every reply directed me to check the product page. No proactive communication about any of the delays. At least four different shipping windows came and went. I never received a tracking number.

absolute disappointment

ordered on day one. like everyone else, i waited, and waited. finally my order was supposedly shipped on 5th or 6th jul.

item was received by the shipping company on the 8th and no further tracking updates were made.

17 July
tracking shows it’s still in HK
emailed clicks support the same day
support replied within the day told me to be patient and that there was a delay due to a documentation error with the shipping company.

some back and forth chatter and support told me to wait until 22 july and i should see the shipment move again and if not, reach out again

22, 23 july
nothing - emailed support again and this time support said that its an error caused by the shipping company and not them 😒 but it should be shipped soon

24 july
i reached out to the shipping company and the company says the item has been returned to the sender

fantastic, what a twist of events. absolute shit experience

A thinner Power Keyboard

Just got mine this week. After two days use, I’m quite pleased with the overall experience including the premium build quality and the typing speed.

In terms of the design, I’m wondering whether the built-in power bank is the main reason for its thickness. If that’s the case, would it be worth considering a version that functions purely as a Bluetooth magnetic keyboard, without the power bank or charging feature? That could make it significantly thinner and lighter, which I think would appeal to users who don’t need the extra battery capacity but only need this physical keyboard attached.

Update-with no news.

Once again i send’em a request how long i do suppose to wait.
Don’t know if Amber is a new bot or really a person. At least she writes like one.

No really news, no excuse, just a different way to say “ wait till you got our best product ever, and now shut up.”

I’ll keep my plan, if don’t get my keyboard till the midst of August, i cancel and wait till a better company gets around with a better product, cheaper and more reliable, and with much less lies.

It can’t get worse than clicks.

Clicks slider modded to be a bit thinner vs old slider I made a good while ago

Working on making the clicks thinner so it can live permanently on the back of my phone as a case, currently it’s still a bit thicker than my original slider keyboard I made a year or two ago out of a zitaotech keyboard (and MUCH heavier) but once I eventually replace the battery and back cover on the clicks it will be slightly thinner

I moved the sliding plate upwards two millimetres so it would sit flush with the front bump of the clicks, so that frees room internally for a smaller battery so hopefully the backplate can be completely flush (and hopefully it’ll get a bit less brick heavy!)

My PowerKeyboard Stopped working after less than 2 hours unboxing

I don’t know what went wrong, as soon as I opened the box I used it for a while and charged it till 100%. It was still working after charging it but I realized it stopped working when I tried to use it again about half an hour later.

The LED does not work on the bottom of the device, and it was in my pocket with my iPhone Air the whole time. I never dropped it or drowned it in the water.

Is there like a reset key or something? Or did it actually die in less than 2 hours? Because I refuse believe I waited 6 months just for it to work for less than 2 hours

UPDATE : Thanks to the comments I got it reset and it’s finally working again

My experience so far: An Expensive Inconvenience

I’ve had my Clicks for iPhone 17 Pro Max for a few days, and to say I haven’t gelled with it is an understatement. Whilst I can forgive things like the ludicrous length and how top heavy it is, the other shortcomings are pushing me to return it*.

For starters, the lack of wired headphone support. This came as a surprise to me, and although I should’ve done my research, it simply did not occur to me that it wouldn’t support them. Same can be said, to a lesser extent, CarPlay. Whilst yes, it does work, as a truck driver who lives out of CarPlay, and has to deal with CarPlay occasionally disconnecting during a drive, having to push a button combo to launch it presents another tiny inconvenience that I need to deal with multiple times every day. Another big issue I’ve been facing is being unable to type in the search bar after pulling down on the lock screen.

On the design of the case I’m not happy either. I want my phone case to protect my phone, not leave the sides and camera bump completely unprotected. I shouldn’t have to remove my case either just to do something as simple as plugging in wired headphones. I also do not find it comfortable to type on at all, and have had to force myself to keep using it as I was writing this post, which has killed my thumbs. I wanted to like it, but these small issues I’ve found in a matter of days have really killed any excitement I felt for it, not helped by issues before it even arrived.

*I am not using the keyboard I ordered from Clicks. That hasn’t shown up. For some reason known only to the Lord almighty they decided to use Evri as their UK delivery company, who have promptly lived up to their reputation and lost, or in my personal belief stolen, my order. I’ve been using a new in box unit I purchased off of eBay for £70 as I really wanted to use it whilst I was in Japan. I think for £70, this keyboard case is a fun novelty to use occasionally. But at £130 this is far too expensive. I’m grateful for the 30 day money back guarantee, because this simply is not for me.

EDIT: Holy Jesus I forgot about the apocalyptic power draw. I started my day at 80%. After three hours PLUGGED INTO POWER for CarPlay I’m at 51%

CLICKS CUSTOMER SERVICE DROPPED THE BALL AGAIN. If anyone is doing return or replacement ask to not have DHL shipping labels.

UPDATE: CLICKS HAS REPLIED AND A REPLACEMENT WAS SHIPPED OUT ACCORDING TO THEM. THEY SAID I CAN ASK DHL TO DISPOSE THE PACKAGE CONTAINING THE ORIGINAL ITEM.

Hello everyone,

I want to thank everyone for communicating with me in my previous post. I learned a lot.

u/ClicksTech responded and David from Clicks gave me a DHL shipping label.

I packed the device and took it to DHL access point. Person there was so nice and he asked me if the item is a power bank. I said yes, they said oh then it might not get shipped. He asked me again if I was sure.

At this point I should have been concerned but I trusted u/ClicksTech and told him that it is from the company they probably know what they are doing. He took the package sealed it and then gave me the tracking receipt.

** Guess what? The guy was right. **

DHL refused to ship the package to UK as batteries are not allowed on their network.

I forwarded the email to Christina and the LLM basically said let me find a human to assist you with this.

** MORAL OF THE EXPERIENCE: **

Do not accept DHL shipping labels to ship your product back to Clicks.

Had to list my Clicks Power Keyboard

Decided wasn't for me.

Let me know if anyone in Australia wants to try, without delivery delays and practically new!

Look forward to the Communicator, prefer my Clicks Keyboard in my iPhone 15 PM.

Clicks Power with the Fold 7

Just got my keyboard in from eBay last night. While I know I overpaid I am too inpatient to wait until the end of the summer. As a kid I was too poor to have the Sidekick or the LG Wing, so while it looks absolutely ridiculous I am so far really enjoying the experience. And gboard autocorrect has been a life saver thus far 😁.

Power keyboard finally arrived. But.

First thing I noticed was that the mechanism that holds the phone in place is very weak with the Samsung S24 Ultra and Oppos Fins X9 Ultra. The slightest movement and it comes crashing down. The magnets are strong though but I won't be testing it outside.

Secondly, my device arrived and the wireless charger doesn't work on any of my devices. I've updated the app, firmware, checked my devices. Wireless works fine with my puck charger.

I've not experienced some of the issues others have had, like wobbling at the top.

The feel of the device feels nice, the texture on the housing is very satisfying. When it clicks in place it feels and sounds nice, it just doesn't hold the weight of an ultra class smart phone.

Weirdly there's no other settings when sliding it up, it's either be covered by most of your phone, or slide up so much that you're super top heavy. There's no in-between. I think that's a huge oversight.

I kinda wanted to use my as a temp power bank and a multi device keyboard for tablet and TV. So I guess it's fine, but mine wireless doesn't work at all so it has to go back.

A long wait for something that is overall a bit disappointing

Edit: The device fully covers the S24 Ultra bottom camera, if people are wondering.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra, the cameras are not covered at all. THe edge of the ring around the camera module, with a case on, is fine. Extending the rails to use the keyboard leaves a large gap.
