After 24 hours of use - initial impression is the product is disappointing, heavily compromised, and poorly executed. With an iPhone Air, both portrait and landscape, the ergonomics feel very awkward. The weight makes it very uncomfortable to hold while typing, never feels comfortable or balanced in the hand. While attached to the phone, it feels very bulbous, with round edges and a large air gap between the keyboard and the phone.

The extra weight in the pocket cancels out the benefit of the size/weight of the iPhone Air, making it unlikely to be a daily carry - and the Clicks battery is too low powered to really act as a proper MagSafe battery pack (in the same way the the Apple or Anker battery packs do).

Build quality is mixed. The outer rubberised back feels ok as does the keyboard build quality. However, when open, it exposes some cheap feeling plastics of questionable quality, plus exposes a small fragile ribbon-cable, that really should ideally be inside the product.

For me it’s this tiny central locking button at the back. After parking I have to walk behind the car to get to the house, so tap the button as I pass to lock all doors without needing to take the key out of my pocket. (I know I can tap the top of the drivers door handle to do the same, but that means standing next to my door while waiting for others to get out, unloading shopping, close all their doors etc). I reckon the button is saving me about 45 seconds per year 😉

Do I need to charge it or pair it to my device or something?

Not sure if these are new, but discovered them in Waitrose a couple of weeks ago. Whole family seem to be addicted to them. Have bought boxes a couple of times and they last a just few minutes, and then I get asked when we’re buying more. Can’t think of the last time we discovered something new that’s had this reaction.

[SOLVED - Solution in comments] - We’re having a heatwave in the UK (up to around 36c - which I know is nothing compared to parts of US and EU!). One of my U7 Pro’s is having stability issues. If I take it down from the roof, the outer plastic casing is literally too hot to hold the unit, I can only handle it at the edge / outer rim of the disc. Alarmingly, the fans don’t seem to be running at all (on U7’s normally, the fans can actually be quite loud when they get going). Is something wrong here, and is this dangerous?
