Is this normal steering wheel slop? I’ve been chasing this issue and wandering steering in my 80 for a month. Here are the times I’ve done: new birfs, full knuckle rebuild with wheel bearings, spindles inspected✅, steering gear box, rag joint under dash, caster correction bushings, adjustable front and rear panhard bars, majority of bushings replaced with polyurethane( trailing arms, seat bars, etc), multiple alignments between the different work. My intermediate steering shaft appears to be in good shape( no play).

Any ideas or something I’m missing? An adjustment inside the steering gearbox to reduce input play?

Come over mechanic replaced my alternator on my JDM lc100. He removed the power steering pump and various covers and throttle body and air intake. When he was finished this bracket was left over but he insists he didn't remove it. I suspect it's part of a power steering hose clamp but does somebody know for sure?

Finally got my dream truck.

I’ve been hunting for a solid 80 series for ages, and finally picked up this 1999 VX-R a couple weeks ago.

It’s got the factory 4.5L EFI straight-six, automatic transmission, and full factory triple lockers — front, center and rear diff locks, all straight from Toyota. That’s exactly why I held out for the VX-R trim. It also comes with factory dual fuel tanks, dual spare tires, plus ABS and airbags.

The previous owner already finished the build: 6-inch lift with nitrogen shocks, ARB bull bar with a Warn winch, RCF heavy-duty steering links, adjustable rear 4-link, and radius arm drop brackets.

The second I got it, I went through every fluid in the truck and sorted out all the small issues. No leaks, no weird noises. it’s solid all around.

Next up, I’m planning to take it on an overland trip through Xinjiang in western China.

So water pump and timing belt have yet to be done since 95k miles. So im thinking 15k offer

So i have been struggling with a electrical issue for some time, but can’t seem to wrap my head around it. The thing is, that randomly while driving I notice that when f.eks trying to roll up the windows(as shown on the video), my engine start to stutter like on the video, this also applies to "larger" current draws in general, I have a 2x12 sub, and I can listen to music with heavy bass with no problem, but at completely random times, the current draws from my sub starts to make the car stutter. As u see on the video, I don’t get voltage drops, as if the alternator was to be bad, it seem’s fine. And this problem comes and goes. Sometimes there’s nothing, othertimes I can’t even have my extra lights on without it wanting to die. Does anyone have experience with something similar?? This car also has 2 battery’s, so there should be plenty of power available. Any suggestions as to what may cause this fuckery?
