What would you do in my situation?

I’m currently on a 5‑year fixed term with Gatehouse, ending in February next year. My rate right now is 3.75%. After the fixed term finishes, I expect the rate to increase to around 5.5%–6%.

I have 20 years remaining on the mortgage, and my monthly payments will likely rise to about £2,000 after February. I’m considering whether I should pay off the mortgage completely.

If I keep the money in an Islamic bank, I only earn around 4%, and I would still have to pay 40% tax on the profit plus zakat.

Do you have any advice?

Best place for ONT box in three story house?

We line in three story house, at the moment, here is my current network setup;

Ground Floor - Wireless router and Mesh 1
First Floor - Mesh 2
Second Floor - Mesh 3

I have upgraded to full fiber 300 and I will get wifi 5 router from plusnet. The installation will be done in coming weeks.

I will carry on using Mesh on each floor. I will upgrade the mesh hardware to 5 or 6 in the future. I can't use Ethernet.

I like to know If first floor (middle floor) is a best place for ONT box and wireless router so that both ground floor and second floor can good signals?

I read online saying Mesh works well when signals goes upwards from ground floor to first and second floor.

My office is on second floor and I definitely need good signals. I am on 67mbps speed and don't have any issues when using mesh.

Should ONT box and wireless router be on ground floor or middle floor?

Full Fiber 500/900 BT vs EE vs Plusnet

I have been with TalkTalk for over 12 years and have not had any issues so far. I am on fiber 67. I am planning to upgrade to full fiber 500/900 and shortlisted Plusnet, EE and BT.

Plusnet comes out cheaper and then EE and then BT. EE offers wifi 7 router.

Any recommendation on which provider is good?
