I'm planning to launch a new beauty brand in India and currently stuck at the product-development stage.
I'm considering starting with colour cosmetics, especially things like:
Lip products
Lip & cheek products
Tints
Lip oils
Multi-use makeup products
And other
But I don't want to launch another product that already exists under 50 different brands.
If you were starting a beauty brand today, what product/ category do you think has genuine potential in the Indian market right now?
What do you think is currently missing or underserved?
I'd especially love suggestions for products that solve an actual problem, have room for innovation, or could become a brand signature rather than just another generic lipstick/tint/gloss.

I’m a growing beauty brand owner, and lately I’ve been receiving a lot of collaboration DMs. While I truly appreciate the interest, it’s not possible for me to say yes to every request. At the same time, I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, damage my brand image, or have people unfollow just because we aren’t collaborating.

Hi everyone, I’m from India and I want to build a beauty brand, but I’m feeling confused about where to start.
I know how to make handmade beauty products, but I don’t want my business to stay handmade forever. My goal is to build a proper beauty brand and eventually sell products on a larger scale.
My current situation:
Limited budget for manufacturing
No business registration yet
No licenses or certifications
No experience with the legal side of the beauty industry
I’m looking for advice from people who have started or worked in the cosmetics/beauty industry in India.

What is the best way to start with a small budget?
Should I start with handmade products, private labeling, or another model?
What registrations and licenses are required to sell beauty products legally in India?
How much capital is realistically needed to launch a small beauty brand?
What mistakes should a beginner avoid?
My goal is to create a genuine beauty brand rather than just sell products casually. I’d really appreciate any advice, resources, or experiences from people who have been through this journey.
