slow death of letter mail

hi just a vent post. for context, my best friend of over a decade and i finally figured out our feelings for each other, however he's dealing w a really difficult life thing rn so we haven't been talking (his request). we restarted talking through pinterest (through separate boards on our accounts, so it looks weird af from outside) abt 2 months ago.

he lives in Ottawa (our hometown) and I'm currently in Hfx. he sent me a letter about our relationship one month ago. it has not arrived. it has literally been one month and 2 days and no letter. I've been able to talk to a couple postal workers abt this and they were super nice and apologetic bc there's rly nothing to be done.

i do not want to see any "well you should have sent it with tracking" bc It Is A Letter. my [now bf ig] should not have to send a Letter with tracking info just to make sure A Letter gets from the capital of the country to a crucial port city. every day i get less hopeful that it will actually arrive. my [friend] and i can't talk until i receive it (boundary). idk what to do apart from impatiently wait. it's just really, really frustrating, esp bc this was not an issue until recently.

anyways that's all. just feeling upset and powerless. i hope they find the letter soon. sry abt the dramatic title it just rly feels that way rn.

edit: i shouldn't have to write this because I Already Did but i will not be explaining his situation or our relationship more than i already have. you don't have to understand why we aren't talking rn, or why we're communicating this way, because it does not concern you. this has been going on for about two months. "but if you were actually close you would just talk" so like i literally just said, it's a complicated situation that i do not feel comfortable posting on the Canada Post subreddit (ik, sue me /j). you do not know our relationship or who we are as people, and i shouldn't have to write an autobiography for y'all to understand that. i am not being gaslit, i have gone through enough of that in my life to recognize when it's happening. thank u and pls take care.

▲ 29 r/halifax

hi just a heads up for those who take the 29 and need to go past Inglis/South Park. this afternoon, I had to convince the bus driver to take me to Inglis before Tower instead of turning down Young Ave bc they didn't want to deal w the buses at the grammar school. im (clearly) physically disabled and had to reiterate that fact *twice* before they kept going down the normal route. they "jokingly" said that they shouldn't have said anything. I know there are temp stops down Tower, and I actually needed to go one more stop, but I didn't want to escalate it.

i understand that dealing with the buses at the grammar school is frustrating but that doesn't mean you get to just skip a chunk of the route bc you don't want to deal w it. if i hadn't spoken up, i would've had to walk like 10-15mins instead of 5 (which should have been less than 1 had I gotten off at the correct stop, mind you). if it's such an issue, then communicate w *that* bus company. ik not all the bus drivers do this but just be wary around the end of the grade school day that some may decide to just not do the route past Inglis/South Park. (going to contact hfx transit or whoever abt this dw, js thought it would be good to know)
