I’m sick of the Haley Stevens ads

I saw a headline a few weeks ago about how she’d gotten a boost in funding from corporate PACs, and since then I’ve been bombarded with ads for her.

They’re all “Haley Stevens is SO SUCCESSFUL! Do you remember Obama? She was on an auto team he made! These are her only two qualities! Goodbye!”

Not only is it offensively uncreative, it’s crazy that they’re not even trying to address any other issues than the auto industry. It feels almost made in a lab by people who think Michigan has only one thing going on. Not to mention the elephant in the room that is her ties to Israel and general milquetoast establishment Democrat vibe. All of the funding and none of the real energy behind her.

Can I use lactobacillus brine to help kickstart a sourdough starter?

Hi all, I’ve always struggled to make a working sourdough starter (I always forget to feed it), and I was curious if anyone knows whether it’d be possible to use the LAB from a veggie ferment to help introduce the right kinds of bacteria to a sourdough starter. For the yeast I’d probably try to get a source of wild yeast going or even just use commercial (I know this is faux pas but whatever).

Does anyone have any insights into doing this?

US-based folks, how much did moving to a different state help/harm your career?

Hey all, I’m currently working in an area of MI that doesn’t have the greatest quantity of environmental jobs. I’m currently working in a native plant landscaping/ecological restoration role, which is seasonal with no benefits but decent pay.

I graduated with an MS a couple years back and was hoping to get an ecology-oriented govt job but A. there’s none in my area and B. the fascists don’t exactly like environmental-anything right now. I get notifications from the conservation jobs board on new jobs sorted by state, and I always have noticed how certain states (WA, MN, NY, CA) seem to have a lot more jobs available than my own.

My partner will be graduating next year, and frankly I’m becoming burnt out at my current job between the lack of benefits and high stress/intense labor (not to mention my boss uses AI in the worst ways possible). So I’m curious regarding others’ experiences, how much did moving states change your career prospects? Are there any particular states that are being hit less hard right now?

TL;DR: in MI, current job ain’t built to last, I’m curious about career prospects in other states.

Thanks in advance for advice :)
