Any opinion on HR or Company as a great employer awards? Are there really any awards that companies pay to award or pay to recognize?

For context we laugh because there are companies that we know are NOT GREAT PLACES to work for, but what kind of HR awards as an employer are they receiving. For example we have these circle of friends from the blue Fintech who themselves laughed at the awards that are being presented
