EDIT: Okay, the vote was practically unanimous. I'm switching artist. I messaged the studio and said I wasn't confident in the artist and could I switch to another (I actually named one who's work I am fairly confident in) but lesson learned. If I lose the deposit then so be it, call it idiot tax I guess. £100 down the drain, maybe it'll teach me for next time.
So I got in touch with a studio that had really good reviews. I checked their photos, good artwork, a few wobbly ones but I figured they weren't in the style I wanted so I wouldn't have to worry. Turns out, they've allocated me the artist I should have been worried about. They said "we'll partner you with ____ because they love big nerdy tattoos!"
I've already sent the booking fee, but now I'm worried. The lion looks okay, and I'm only looking for line work, not colour, but the Elden Ring one... I'm worried. Do I go ahead? Do I cancel? Do I request a different artist with more consistent skill? And if I do, how do I ask nicely so I don't offend anyone?
(The sketch is mine of what I want)
