Hey! I released Northern Passage Classic and I've had huge support from here :) I have not forgotten about this place, so I'll post some shots from new areas. Granted, this update will be paid, but the free version stays to give you a taste of what to expect :)

Expanded map itself, more detail, refined areas, more interesting surfaces, more stuff, plenty to explore, cruise, race and of course - take photos!

Cruise around the winding roads, highways, rally paths, worn asphalt paths, airfield, industrial areas, villages. Find race tracks, rally trails, rallycross tracks and much more!

Hey!

You might have seen Riga East before if you've watched Assetto Corsa free roam videos on YouTube. This was actually my very first map, started back in 2022.

What began as a joke between me and a friend eventually became a project I spent nearly three years working on. It grew from a small recreation of Mežciems into a large section of Riga and its surrounding suburbs. To loop the map, takes about 20-30 minutes. More if you take side routes, dirt roads etc.

Most of the road network follows the real city quite closely. While many areas were never finished or fully detailed, you'll still be driving through recognizable neighborhoods, suburbs and roads that closely resemble their real-life counterparts.

During development I worked on other maps, improved my modelling skills and learned a lot. When I returned to Riga East, I realized the project had become too difficult to maintain. Every fix seemed to create another issue, and after finishing Northern Passage I knew I could build something much better from scratch instead of trying to keep patching this one.

So the project was cancelled.

Recently I let a few testers drive it and, despite all its flaws, they still had fun exploring it. So instead of letting this cancelled project remain hidden on my hard drive after roughly 18 months of additional development since Riga East 0.92, I decided to release it for everyone to explore.

Please keep in mind:

• It is unfinished.
• It contains bugs and rough edges.
• Things are broken or incomplete.
• It is not representative of my current work.

If you're interested in seeing where Baltic Race Works started, and you're willing to explore a genuinely unfinished project complete with some broken models, floating objects, misplaced poles, missing details and plenty of other quirks, I hope you'll enjoy taking a drive through what could have become my biggest project. Even though it never became the map I originally envisioned, I thought it deserved to be explored rather than forgotten.

Maybe one day I'll rebuild Riga properly from scratch, probably for AC EVO, but who knows?

A month ago I released my Northern Passage free roam map on my paid Patreon and posted here. I'm very thankful for the support I've received and since then I've been updating and expanding the map constantly!

Quick look at some farmlands roads I'm doing for my map. Edited like it's a oldschool video game replay 😄

This new firewatch road is designed to be one of the more technical drives on the map. Expect plenty of camber, elevation changes, and a few bumps along the way to keep things interesting. Rather than being all about top speed, the goal is to create a road that's genuinely fun and rewarding to drive. I usually average at about 80-90 KM/h on this road in the current builds.

Since it's one of the highest points on the map, you'll also get some of the best views Northern Passage has to offer. There are still a few ideas I want to add around this area, so if you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see, I'd love to hear them!

Hey guys! I have to say a huge thanks for the support here on this subreddit for the map I've been making. I've been making the update for a month now, so here are some shots from new areas! Details still missing, but the roads are there.

- Touge like road that goes rather high up, so you can see the entire map from that point, will have a watch tower/fire watch tower as a destination at the highest point.
- Highway system, where the highway is not the main part of the map. To make a full loop of the map, you'll need to go on-off-on and off again from the highway.

More stuff is coming soon and I'd appreciate any ideas you guys have. The aim here is to make a very fun, but believable map that's great to cruise and race on. I'll host servers for the existing version in a few days and this version whenever it comes out :)

2REAL traffic is sure dramatic and I'm all here for it. Had to make this like a Burnout 3 crash.

After few months of working, I've finally release the remake of Northen Passage, which originally was a winter free roam map. Now it's an asphalt map with many, many changes. Lush forests, rally trails, race tracks, wide roads split into 4 way roads full with traffic or just relaxing B roads that go through a town or a small ski resort village.

Overall happy how it has turned out. Decently sized, has tons of warried roads, few dirt tracks, some rally trails, two small towns and a full blown circuit in the hills. Really happy with the vegetation.
