If Homelander is an "asexual weirdo", is the Becca incident a plot hole?
In Season 5 Episode 5, Soldier Boy refers to Homelander as his "fucking asexual weirdo." I know Soldier Boy was mostly throwing an insult, but it got me thinking about Homelander's actual sex drive and how it connects to the very beginning of the show.
Everything kicks off because Homelander assaulted Becca. But if he really leans toward being asexual, or at least has a completely non-existent normal sex drive compared to other supes, why did he do it?
Is this just inconsistent writing, or does it perfectly highlight that the assault on Becca was 100% about power and dominance rather than actual sexual desire? We know his weird relationships with Stillwell and Stormfront were basically just him seeking mommy-figures and validation. He sexually ignored Firecracker, and was completely uninterested in getting a blowjob from Mischa Barton (talked about Nietzsche for 2 hours instead) as well.
Would love to hear what you guys think. Did the writers just forget his original characterization, or is this line actually consistent with his god-complex?
