how good are claude's or chatgpt's pdf processors in comparison to like docling

I have some very complex pdf and docling is failing in several structural and content understandings. It works better than many other tools out there, but still fails in many complex cases. That made me wonder if the whole pdf document is uploaded to gpt or claude, would they process it better than what I get as text through docling. I think at the end they would change pdf to some text representation, no?

ELI5 What did we get right for tools that open and close many times a day to function smoothly for many years

Today when I was using the kitchen tap it occurred to me that even after living like 6 years in the same apartment, the kitchen tap (that opens up and down) works with the exact same smoothness like the first day. I open and close this thing like thirty times a day. Same with my laptop that I lift up to open, doesn’t need some oil or so after several years. Having grown up around doors that make squeaky sound, why do the above kind of tools function for many many years?

Ethiopia has one of the best climates and the people have no idea about it

Burning inside the current heat wave of Europe, I keep remembering how good of a climate Ethiopia generally has, but people are so oblivious to it.

12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness all year long. Cool enough in the nights so that you could enjoy a comfortable sleep. Hot over the day but nothing unmanageable if you stay in shade and pack clothes for changes of weather.

Most countries in the same latitudinal range have quite hotter climates but because a big part of Ethiopia sits on top of mountains, the country is relatively quite cool. And proper rainy season of a couple of months a year.

I am generally talking about the middle of Ethiopia that is on the highlands.

Honestly it is enough with all this background music. You open some cooking channel, it is some music background the whole 6 minutes. You open instagram, it is full of worn out parts of music and the creativity of the content would be so mediocre if they didn’t slap these cheesy music behind. Same with Netflix and a lot of movies too. Last time I watched a youtube video of runners on their practice and there was no music, all you hear was their hard breathing and their pace. It was so natural and felt like the content itself gave it some sense of rhythm. It was great.
