I have a new Skoda Slavia, and the dealer told me the first service is due at 15,000 km. However, I’ve seen many people online recommend changing the engine oil and oil filter around 7,500–8,000 km, especially for TSI engines in Indian driving conditions and for better long-term engine maintenance.
My car has now done about 8000 km. Would it be a good idea to get just the engine oil and oil filter changed now, and then continue with the regular official service schedule later?
Has anyone here actually done this on their Skoda/VW? Did you notice any difference in engine smoothness, performance, or overall driving feel afterward?
I’m planning to keep this car for the long term, so I’d love to hear feedback from long-term Skoda/VW owners.
