First Auto Seat Change request - a win!

First Auto Seat Change request - a win!

Flight coming up. When booked, all MCE seats were taken. Decided to try out the new feature, and it scored a win for me! 🎉🎉

ETA: I will say I wish there were better options for the auto seat move (I.e. MCE only instead of just closer to front). But I think this is a great start!

Anyone want to get comp upgraded? Fly to Vegas tonight from PHL on the 10:13pm

Currently 7 empty seats in First Class! My upgrade cleared at 90ish hours before flight!

[PHL] to [SJU] Off to a great start! Thanks to FA Jerry!

Sat down in my seat to this great card! This is extra amazing to me, as it's printed, so Jerry goes out of his way to review status members on upcoming flights and prints out these cards, then places them at the seat.

Great job, Jerry! Keep it up!

Missed Connection with a flight attendant AA490 6/27

Listen, I'm sure I'm going to get downvoted to hell for this, but I'm willing to take the karma hit for the off chance she sees this. Tagging as humor so as to not clog up the more meaningful flairs on this sub.

Tl;Dr - unless you were an FA on AA490 on 6/27 ORD to PHL, don't worry about it 😁

You were the FC FA on this flight tonight. I commented about your ring watch, you came back about my lip syncing the safety brief, along with a few other things during the flight. I was hoping to catch up with you off the plane, but my Uber arrived too quick (one of the few times I regret having a reserved pickup!).

Anyways, I would've asked for your number on the plane while we chatted, but:

1: I didn't want to put you in an awkward situation if you weren't interested (although I'm pretty sure you were)
2: You were working, and I try to not mix work and personal in my life, so I try to return that respect.
3: I've misread the situation in the past (different industry) so I probably have crippling anxiety over it now. There seems to be a fine line between flirting and being nice for the job you're doing.

Anyways, if you see this Ms. ORD based flight attendant, and you were interested, slide in my DMs? I'd love the opportunity to take your for drinks/coffee/whatever!

Same Day Flight Change - Explain it like I'm 5, please

I understand availability. However, if they're still selling tickets, and seat map shows A LOT of empty seats (I know seat maps don't reflect availability), why wouldn't I be seeing any options for SDFC? This has been the case with every trip I've attempted to SDFC for the past month or two. Is this a glitch in the app? However, calling ExPlat line has always gotten me confirmed (not even standby) on an earlier flight every time. I'm just not always in a position to be able to make a call and would love to be able to manage it myself.

Predicted delays - my biggest complaint about Flighty

My biggest complaint - these. Plane just landed. Has a 10 minute taxi. Plus deplaning, cleaning, and boarding. If deplaning, cleaning, and boarding can magically happen within 15 minutes, it'd be a miracle.

All that to say - these "has enough time for... departure" need to factor in a longer turnaround time for planes.

Why I maintain my EP status.

This past Saturday, was flying DFW to PHL (going home trip). Due to original work schedule, I was on the last flight of the night (8:15 or so), which I try to avoid, but couldn't this time. Storms were rolling in to both DFW and PHL. Delays start hitting. I got done work early, and headed to the airport. I got to DFW at 6. Cleared security, went to grab coffee, and at 6:15, my flight got cancelled. I looked to see if there were other options, and there was a 6:30 direct. Figured out what gate the 6:30 flight was at (thanks Flighty!) - A terminal - and I was in C. I dial the EP line and start heading that way. Auto-rebook was routing me through BOS (with an overnight layover!). I tell EP desk what I'm trying to do - they say let's get you on that plane! I walk up to the gate agent like 11 mins before flight time. I know I'm pushing my luck - I look at the GA and say "hey EP line is trying to move me to this flight" she replies "hang up, I got you!" Got on the flight (exit row with an empty seat in the middle!) and ended up home about 2 hours before originally scheduled!

TL;DR - IRROPS are when status is by far the most important thing in the world.

How many FAs on a 787-8 domestic route?

Can anyone let me know how many FAs will be crewing a domestic flight (it shouldn't matter, but route is MIA to PHL)? I just learned tomorrow is International Flight Attendants Day, so want to grab some gift cards for the crew of my flight.

Thanks!

Why would Flighty be showing such a large delay?

As of now, it looks like plane is only 5 mins behind. With 1.5 hours until it's next departure, that shouldn't throw anything off. Why would Flighty claim the aircraft is 1h 32m delayed?

First flight of May today - I typically look at the book to see about new offerings. And...they changed the fruit and cheese plate! Wish I would've looked earlier on, as I would've ordered one (had a big breakfast so wasn't actually hungry). Oh well, I'll have to try it next time around.
