Happy Sunday all,

I am looking for some tips/tricks/guidance for replacement and/or removal of knob + tube and AL circuits in a home. Wiring is present in the attic and walls of the home and panel is located in the basement. Work is being done at the request of home insurance company so the requirements are to render the knob + tube and AL wiring inoperable.

My background: JP of 3 years. Never had to deal with K+T wiring in my apprenticeship or afterward. I am now the lead at another company so I don’t have more experienced electricians to lean on in situations like this. I’ve been educating myself with some YouTube videos and conversations with others, but thought I’d tap as many knowledge bases as I could before going forward with this new experience.

Hey everyone,

I am looking to install an Orbit 57257 4 Valve Manifold to pair with my Rainbird SST-600i to automate my 4 watering zones. 3 zones are for lawn with 3-5 pop top sprinkler heads and one zone will be for a garden bed with a drip/low pressure system.

I have 4 1/2” poly tube lines which each feed a single zone, run to a central location adjacent to the hose bibb which feeds the entire system.

I’m curious as to what parts I will need to connect the 4 valve manifold to my existing infrastructure. What I will need to connect the 1/2” poly tube to the outlets of the manifold, and what I’ll need to cleanly connect the intake to the hose bibb.
