I found this HMT Uttam for cheap. Entire case and glass were badly scratched. Movement was fully rusted.

Got the case and bracelet polished, got the crystal replaced and swapped the movement from another HMT I had.

Few hours of work and I have a running HMT. I love the original bracelet even more. Wearing it today to test time accuracy.

I don’t see many HMT Uttam models. I liked it more than the common models that I see around. It has a glass crystal and a lumed dial. Any more info about this model?

I picked up this Ricoh Automatic watch in non-working condition with a broken crystal. Serviced it myself. Got the case polished, crystal replaced and a new bracelet. It is working well and keeping good time.

After wearing it, I feel it is too shiny for a vintage.
I don’t want to keep it.
