instructions page par likha hai ki while filling application form, candidates must select atleast 1 or maximum 3 major subjects, there will be no preference order among the selected major subjects , A separate merit list will be prepared for each major subject based on candidate's ncet 2026 score and applicable reservation rules

Matlab hamko 1st preferred choice subject 2nd preferred choice subject 3rd preffered choice subject choose karne nahi milega is baar? Like har baar toh milta tha and even maine kuch seniors se baat Kari they were saying dhyan se choose karna preference subject order ko, and isme toh kuch alag hi likha hai.

I got 436 after normalisation, I had 463 previously

I am targeting RIE Bhopal, and RIE AJMER AND BHUBANESWAR As Side Options.

I am facing problems and confusion related to preference filling.

I am more interested in history as a major, then political then geography, but my marks in these subjects individually are the total opposite of my interests.

Geography which has my least interest, but I have the highest marks 74 in it, Political science has 68, and history which I am most interested in has the lowest marks i.e.60 marks

Now I am confused, whether I should fill my preferences based on my interest or marks?

I had a few more doubts in my mind

1. What if I fill geography 1st and history 2nd and I get my name on the 1st merit list of rie bhopal in geography but I don't take the seat and wait to get my name in history in 2nd or 3rd merit list, would I be still eligible to participate in 2nd and 3rd round if I don't accept the seat offered in 1st round? Because in their latest brochure it says that : "Applicants who fail to accept seats offered at any stage will not be considered further in the admission process" So If I get Geography in RIE BHOPAL, but I choose to wait for getting History in RIE AJMER, and if RIE AJMER doesn't release it's merit list before the deadline of RIE BHOPAL for accepting the seat, and I don't accept the seat of geography in RIE BHOPAL and then I don't get history in RIE AJMER too, then I am done from both ways!!

2. What if I fill history as 1st choice and political as 2nd choice, and I fail to get history in 1st merit list but would I still be eligible to get political science in 1st merit list if I have qualifying marks? Or I fail the chance to get rie bhopal totally if I don't get the 1st choice subject in 1st merit list or any merit list?

3. If I have filled geography as 2nd and have 78 marks but someone has filled geography as 1st and has 76 marks, would he qualify over me because he filled it as 1st choice and I filled it as 2nd?

4. How does rie bhopal takes scores? Like last year it showed subject %ile + nta total %ile, means if they follow the same this year then it would mean , 1. Raw score of Subject chosen for preference + total raw score, because this year NTA has given us raw score only!!

For eg. - history (60)+ total raw score (436) = 496

5. How does this whole preference thing works?

At the end some doubts on behalf of my friends who are not on reddit :

My 2 female friends, both are from ST category, both want college in MP only as their parents won't allow going outside MP, one has got 244 marks and the other has got 345 marks, which college in MP they can get? They both were also targeting for RIE BHOPAL.
