"There's Always Room for Sugar Free Jell-O"circa 1992

Happy 4th! There's nothing more American than terrifying (and delicious) Jell-O recipes. I hope everyone who celebrates today has a safe and fun day! We are supposed to have storms so I will be inside 🤣

Family Circle “Pies and Cakes Cookbook” Circa 1970s

I think most of us aren’t planning on turn on our ovens anytime soon, but this book has GREAT recipes and photos. When it cools down I definitely want to try something out of this!

“250 Luscious Refrigerator Desserts” circa 1954

For being around 72 years old, this recipe booklet is in FABULOUS shape! I love the old photographs so much.

“Fruit Fandango: The Ultimate Fruit Cookbook” circa 1994 by Miya Clarke

I am truly obsessed with the cover photo of this book. I’m a fruit FANATIC and so this was a must-grab when I found it at a discount bookstore. I haven’t made anything out of it yet, but I definitely plan to! It’s got a wide variety of sweet and savory fruit recipes to enjoy!

“The Joy of Ice Cream” circa 1985 by Matthew Klein

This is a newer find from me, got it for only $5 at an antique mall! I’m kinda on a roll with all things summer themed at the moment! Honestly everything in this book sounds divine.

July 1986 issue of Good Food Magazine

Imagine…just $1 for a magazine! I probably bought this for a dollar at the antique mall, but jeez. Something like this today would be at least $7.99! 🫩 But…look back to about exactly 40 years ago for some good recipes! This is the only issue of this magazine that I own, but I do really love it. Definitely gotta scour eBay and my local antique malls for more issues!

Weight Watchers “Slim Ways Grilling” Cookbook circa 1996

Grilling season is upon us! This book has a TON of great recipes, and a lot of vegetarian options as well.

Southern Comfort Liquor “Summer Comfort” circa 1978 cocktail recipe booklet FULL!

Since it’s summer and 4th of July weekend is coming up for those who celebrate, figured I would share this! Lots of cute pics and drink recipes. I’m not much of a drinker so I won’t be making these lol, but if anyone does let me know!

👋Welcome BACK to r/VintageCookbooks! New mod, more new info!

Hey everyone! I'm u/bigbiccenergy, the new moderator for r/VintageCookbooks! Attached is a couple photos of a fraction of my vintage cookbook collection, and overall cookbook collection in general! I love most vintage things (minus most vintage values/discriminatory laws of course), and I love cooking and baking for my loved ones. If you have a cookbook collection, a recipe, a photo of a vintage recipe you made, cool book to show off, or anything related to vintage recipes/cooking, please post it! I will be updating the rules and adding more to this community to get things back up again, since I know it’s been a bit inactive for a while. Please don’t be shy, I LOVE seeing everyone’s posts! I am active in several other vintage related subreddits, but I am only a mod in this one. I hope to see a lot from all of you soon!
