Zoom Fly 6 for Race Day

Hi all. I’m looking for some solid advice on potentially making the Nike Zoom Fly 6 my race-day shoe for half marathons and marathons.

For context: I’m 6’5”, 195 lbs, and just ran a 1:36 half marathon (~7:20 pace) in the Vomero Plus. My projected marathon pace is probably around 8:30/mile (ran my last marathon a few months ago at about 9:00 pace).

The Zoom Fly 6 is on a pretty good sale right now, and I’ve heard a lot of positive things about the carbon plate benefits. I’m considering picking them up, but wanted to see what people think about using them specifically for racing versus keeping them as more of a trainer/workout shoe.

I’m not really looking to spend $300 on Alphaflys, so I’m curious whether the Zoom Fly 6 is a worthwhile carbon plate shoe for someone at my size and pace to benefit from on race day at both distances or if I should just keep with the Plus.
