Personally - the value of all these lairs are not great. I do not expect a fast sell out. I personally love the unique foil treatments, and will be picking up a few copies He Who Walks Unseen and probably Desolation as a PC pickup (Heavy Junji Ito vibes).
What are you buying, what are you skipping, what is selling out?
The Hobbit Collectors being delayed from Amazon is odd. Some folks are reporting September 7th ship dates, others October 19th, and some (Me) dont have dates at all.
This is strange and I have not see an issue like this happen yet with Amazon. If it is a simple logistics issue, it seems like people would have items shipped much sooner.
Does anyone have any more insight into this by chance?
The lair I think will be extremely sought after, but it feels very ConcernedApe to have a potential chase bonus card in the lair - but was curios if anybody knew for sure from any inside sources?

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what makes a collector box truly worth the premium price tag. Does it need serialization? Does it need Surge or another foiling type?
I was looking closely at the reception for the recent Marvel and Final Fantasy sets. On paper, they share a ton of similarities, but the community reaction has been wildly different. For example, Final Fantasy features Neon Chocobos as a major chase card, which ended up being rarer than Marvel's comic book covers—and that scarcity definitely helped drive hype.
But for me, the most glaring difference was the complete absence of Surge Foils in the Marvel set. It actually led me to cancel all of my Marvel Collector Box pre-orders. I originally thought the set was going to be massive—especially since Marvel is an absolute juggernaut of an IP in the West compared to Final Fantasy—but when the full product reveals dropped, the lack of that premium foil treatment really killed the excitement for me.
It got me thinking that IP strength can only carry a box so far if the card treatments themselves feel lackluster.
I’d love to get other people's take on this and have thought of a few questions to try and lead the discussion.
What is your personal dealbreaker for a Collector Box? If a set doesn't have a specific element (like serialization, unique foiling, or hard-to-hit alternate art), do you skip it?
How much does the IP matter vs. the card execution? Did Marvel rely too heavily on its name while skimping on the premium treatments we've come to expect?
What's a set that got the Collector Box formula perfectly right in your eyes?
What are we buying, what are skipping? Is anything going to sell out, will it happen fast? Will folks be sad they missed it, or is this another drop that will rot on the home page?

What spec / card / sealed product moved up larger than you were expecting / shocked you yesterday with the tcgplayer sale?
Kicking this thread off early - as I know we will have multiple threads being made. Drop is at 12EST, and is limit one per customer (order most likely). With a $250 dollar base value, plus the new arts from wizards of the barge, I am expecting this to sell out in 30 minutes.
Post whatever you want here about the deck, the drop, your frustrations, your speculations etc.
(Squabblin & Goblin has ebay auctions at $275 ending today - so I expect this deck to do very well especially long term)
