My 1st 15 days on 1.5mg Wegovy Pills
My stats:
36, F, African-American- Start date: June 19th, 2026- Starting weight: 213.4
Background: I lost 100lb in 2019 through diet and exercise. I didn't use any weigh-loss medication or have any procedures. I am only adding that point for context, no other reason. I have kept the 100 pounds off, but have struggled to lose the last 50 to 60 pounds that I wanted to lose. I was very reluctant to try meds out fear, but I finally decided to give the pills a shot as I am afraid of needles and knew there was no way in HELL I could do the shots. My main reason for giving in to the pills was because of food noise. I just couldn't fight it anymore.
My prescription is through GoodRx. The process was almost too easy. I selected the meds I wanted, answered a few questions, and my prescription of 30 day 1.5mg Wegovy pills was sent to Walmart all within an hour. The monthly subscription to have the Dr. write my prescription is $39 and GoodRx has a deal for the 1st 2 months. The 1.5mg and the 4mg are both $149 each.
Before I started the pills, I went to Quest Diagnostic and had the panel that they called the "Weight Loss Journey Test Panel." I did this because I don't have health insurance or a primary care physician.
Please note: I started these pills 1 day before starting my period. My appetite typically decreases, naturally, the 1st few days of my period. I also gained some water weight a few days before my period.
weight log:
Day 1: 213.4 Day 2: 213.8 Day 3: 214 Days 4-6: 210 Day 7: 210.6 Day 8: 210 Day 9: 209.6
Day 10: 208.6 Day 11: 209 Day 12: 209.4 Day 13: 208.8 Day 14: 209.6 Day 15: 208
As you can see, I had a drop, and have hovered around the same weight. I think that some of the days where my weight went up, it was after I went to the gym and lifted weights. I typically weigh higher the day after going to the gym, even when I am not on the pills. I also track my macros. I eat 1600 calories per day (150g Protein, 60g Fat and 115g Carbs).
At 1st, I didn't really notice a big reduction in food noise or appetite. After my period I was able to really get a feel for the meds and their impact. By day 7 on the pills, I felt like a regular human. I still had to watch what I ate, but I didn't feel driven by my hunger. I could pass by food and not feel like scratching my eyes out if I couldn't have it.
Through the GoodRx portal, I wanted to get a head start on my next prescription to ensure they had it when I need it. I initially told the Dr in my virtual appointment that I wanted to switch to 4mg, but changed back to the 1.5 mg a few hours later after reading reviews on Reddit. I got nervous and decided with the 1.5mg for one more month.
