For context, Josh Adams produces professional audiobooks, and the Republic Commando novels are a passion project of his. He’s done the entirety of Hard Contact and part of Triple Zero.
He stopped posting installments a year ago. It’s crazy because I genuinely hear his impressions of the characters in my head when I read through the books now.
Just wondered if anybody here has heard any news about him coming back to finish the books. He does such a good job adapting the music, sound design, and characters to match the feel of the books. His work is truly a gem and deserves more attention.
I’m sorry but I must jerk.
When you factor in the order of magnitude and range of the weapons used on both the Republic and the CIS ships alone, it really doesn’t make sense why the infantry run at each other.
The droids are expensive and the clones take years to mature, you would think either side would have developed some semblance of tactics informed by generations of armed conflict instead of having them line up like it’s the 18th century.
Aside from planetary shielding, which is not always present in every theatre of the conflict, how are a vast majority of the engagements in the Clone Wars not simply short air campaigns?
The ships, bombers, and fighters in Star Wars are insanely fast, can perform extremely precise strikes, and are far more powerful. Neither side would even have to risk putting troops on the surface unless they have to disable a shield generator.
Make it make sense.
TL;DR: I forgot this was a kids show
I’ve been a fan over the last couple of years but I haven’t really listened to anything past Among the Leaves. It’s not that I don’t want to; I just enjoy Mark’s first 5 albums (and all the RHP discography) so much that I just haven’t gotten around to his newer music.
I know Mark begins to experiment with more in later releases. Benji is the main album I’ve heard people rave about post 2012. Any recommendations of what to listen to from his more recent stuff?
