Applying for USSS position after 8 years of service.

Hello everyone, just a little about me before i get into the questions. I’m 25, recently started going back to school to pursue criminal justice, have a toddler and am married. i have about a year and half left in the Air Force. Im a refueler by trade but for the past 3 years ive been on a specialized team that establishes FARPs in austere environments downrange. Due to family and life changes i’ve pretty much made up my mind about getting out.

Since making up my mind i’ve thought about what i’m going to do and a job that keeps popping up in the back of my mind is the USSS. It all stems from when i was a young airman and interacted with USSS agents from a presidential visit. I was completely enamored by them, their professionalism, their sharp style , their “aura” as a lot of kids say.

I’m posting in this sub because i would like to see the general consensus about the service. I would like to know the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The work life balance. The travel. If i’m even close to being qualified to apply. If you enjoyed what you did or still do. And anything else that you can say, any input is greatly appreciated.

Preciate yall.
