Help with getting back on track after sickness

After a week plus of rough sleep due to ear infections, we are ready to get back on track but aren't sure how to reset. Before getting sick, the last schedule that worked well for our 16 month old was this: 5.75/5.5-- DWT 6:45, Nap 12:30-2:30, Bed 8pm. Now, he's having consistent MOTN wakes anywhere from midnight to 4am and screaming until we get him (which we were doing when he was sick.)

Last night, he was up from about 2am-4am and we both accidentally slept past DWT until about 8am. How should we approach today (and the next few days) to get him back to sleeping through the night?

15.5 month old - on one nap schedule for about a month and a half or so. After a couple failed attempts, we finally got him on a solid schedule of 5.5/5.5 and he slept well (both naps and overnight) for about a month. The last week since his 15 month check up, his overnight sleep (and a couple naps) has changed. Our typical schedule is

DWT 7, nap 12:30-2:30, bed at 7:45-8. For a few days now, he’s consistently awake around 3-4am and we leave him to try to go back down on his own but he keeps escalating to a point where I’ve intervened and after failed attempts to get him back in his crib, we bring him to our bed to finish the night.

I’m sure at this point our intervention is reinforcing the behavior, but I’m wondering if our schedule is appropriate? Like what caused the wake ups to begin with?

He’s never been one to do more than 11 hours overnight and really about 10.5 was his sweet spot before 1 we dropped to 1 nap. So maybe he needs less overnight sleep? But where do I make up for that during the day? His naps have always been about 2 hours and he goes down for all sleep super well!
