Birkenhead tunnel
There has apparently been a crash in the Birkenhead tunnel If anyone was planning to head over to Liverpool. Wallasey running heavy as a consequence, buses delayed and gridlock on the Liverpool side

Hi everyone, on holiday/vacation currently in Athens and I was walking around the fabulous archaeological museum marvelling at the skills of the artisans and it struck me that none of it would be possible without the ancient equivalent of a geologist. What do we know about the ancient geologists or even from more modern times? At Uni we covered the Georgian and Victorian pioneers, even met one of the sea floor spreading discovery team who brought in the original charts they used to plot the polarity flips on.
But geology isn’t a few hundred years old, rocks and minerals have been central to the rise of humanity over thousands of years. Are there any books or papers on this subject? Is there much recognition of the role played in history of the mineral discoverers?
