Tokays are smart!
I accidentally startled Akoya yesterday while coming in from outside. He started to run for his favorite hiding place, but I began talking to him and he actually stopped and listened to me!
I could see him physically relaxing, to the point that his body went a bit limp. He hung out for a few seconds and then, much more slowly and calmly, went back into his cork log.
I'm always impressed by how smart and responsive tokay geckos are. I love that little dinosaur.
