Spot the loaf

Spot the loaf

Trying to wrangle my yard. It's a mess and the heat isn't helping. So I sat down in the shade and got trapped outside by this loaf right in front of my door.

Toolbox wouldn't fit in the car

So me and my son were at Lowe's. Getting some stuff to seal his house from the neighbors rat infestation. He sees a decent toolbox. Someone at his job had just cut the lock off his. They only stole company tools and left his personal ones alone but still.

So we get to the car and yeah. Doesn't fit. We managed to put the first dent in his brand new toolbox to boot. We could have sworn we put something bigger in that car.

A nice old man with an accent we cannot place offers to drive it home for us in his truck! So I tell my son to ride with him because I'm not comfortable doing that.

We get to out house and I offer the guy a twenty. I just wanted to buy him lunch but he smiles and rolls up his window.

My son then tells me that the man was a geneticist from the Soviet era. He moved to Armenia to teach University

They got into politics somehow and he told my son exactly what he thought of Trump and why. It was the only time the smile left his face. We both wondered how he ended up in our crappy wasteland of the industrial revolution new England city. The ride wasn't THAT long, damnit.

He left my son with the words "pay this kindness forward, please" I was kinda wishing I had ridden with him but I'm glad my son did. The world has been kicking him in the nuts and then stomping his head while he's down lately. He probably needs to know good people do still exist more than I do right now.

Be kind, please.

Edit - reddit suggested this sub after threatening me with a permanent ban for trying to post "political" content on a couple of the stories subs.

Mods feel free to remove it. Someone nice touched our life and it's been a long frickin time since they happened. I wanted to share it with someone.
