For context this lantern came off the back entrance of our 1845 home. I think it’s copper or a copper alloy with a thick layer or grime and am trying to clean it up a bit before rewiring and rehanging.

I own a 1845 home that had this lamp outside. I’m not sure if the exact age, but am guessing early 1900s. It’s covered in a thick layer of grime and tarnish but when scrubbed lightly with vinegar and salt it’s started looking more and more coppery. It’s not magnetic and is relatively light. Very interested to see what others may think!
