Spider-Carnage (Ben Reilly)!

Spider-Carnage! A recent build thrown together because of a question asked over on Discord. This is the Ben Reilly version, not the more recent Peter Parker one from the Death Spiral storyline. Clarification on the Symbiote Origin situation. There are only two origins, Knull and Venom. Demiplane separates them primarily as a character-building convenience because Marvel has so many different symbiote variations and lineages and it allows the Demiplane builder to apply the various Powers, Traits, and Tags associated with each variation. Symbiote: Knull represents a more generic Klyntar bond connected to the hive mind of Knull, while Symbiote: Venom represents the specific Venom lineage and its descendants, which have developed additional characteristics through their history on Earth. That’s why the Venom Origin provides a larger mechanical package, including Webcasting and Wallcrawling, and increases the character by two Ranks (unless the character it bonds with already has some of the powers and/or Traits) instead of one.

The individual symbiotes such as Carnage, Toxin, Riot, Sleeper, and Anti-Venom are then handled as variations of the Venom Origin, adding their own Traits, Tags, or Powers. In short, Knull is the broad Klyntar template, while Venom is a specialized lineage within it—an organizational distinction that makes building the many different symbiote characters much easier. Apocalypse!

Apocalypse Redux! Before discovering Celestial technology, Apocalypse’s mutant powers granted him complete control over his own molecular structure, allowing him to alter his size and shape, stretch his body, enhance his physical abilities, and regenerate from injury. As an External, he was also naturally immortal. After integrating Celestial technology into his body, these powers were elevated to an entirely different level. The armor became a permanent extension of his physiology, vastly amplifying his strength, durability, regeneration, energy manipulation, technopathy, and teleportation while making him one of Marvel’s premier cosmic threats. This build represents that evolution by treating the Celestial Battlesuit as an Iconic Item and utilizing Power Cosmic (Powerful Hex reimagined with a higher Rank requirement and different Origin requirement) from the Secret Wars Expansion in place of Copy Power, better reflecting Apocalypse’s consistently self-generated abilities rather than powers that depend on those around him. Inspired by a community builder Spoony Viking’s (on Discord) concept (found here https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1485123007352537200/1534358005481738401/Marvel\_Multiverse\_RPG\_-\_Character\_Sheet\_-\_Apocalypse\_Louise\_Simonson.pdf?ex=6a75cfff&is=6a747e7f&hm=6de5023e137f1a728b4526852235ce5c870979242fce357e20f6197d08a0acd1& and refined into my own interpretation, this version aims to more faithfully capture Apocalypse as the near-unstoppable fusion of mutant evolution and Celestial science seen throughout the comics. Yes I know that Sturdy 3 and Flexible Bones 2 are redundant, but I wanted to represent what the Battle Suit grants to any one who can harness it. Love it or Hate it, Take it or Leave it….the option is yours. Drax the Destroyer, Pip the Troll, and Starfox!

Drax the Destroyer (original appearances), Pip the Troll, and Starfox (original appearances)! So I went down a rabbit hole which started out with a rebuild of my original Drax build but then grew to include a Pip rebuild as well as Starfox (now that some new powers have been introduced in the Secret Wars Expansion). Some are just alternate art versions because I’m a sucker for art variations and one Drax build is after his second resurrection when his brain was damaged and he had the intellect of a small child. The Starfox build takes a more historical approach to his powers, rather than simply reproducing his current Marvel Multiverse RPG statistics. Starfox’s abilities have expanded considerably over the decades, and his more recent portrayals include direct cosmic-energy projection that was not a defining part of his original power set. The classic Starfox was primarily an Eternal with enhanced physical abilities, flight, and his signature psionic ability to influence emotions and stimulate pleasure.

Because of that evolution, these builds represent different eras of Starfox, allowing his powers to develop alongside his comic-book history rather than treating his modern abilities as if he possessed them from the beginning. I used the “Getting Schooled” rules to add one additional Trait to Starfox and one additional Trait and Power (plus a power converted into a Trait) to Pip. Mahkizmo!

Mahkizmo! Design Notes: This build focuses on Mahkizmo’s original portrayal rather than later interpretations. Nearly 45 years passed between his earliest appearance and his most recent one, giving different writers plenty of opportunities to reinterpret the character. Originally, Mahkizmo was depicted as a powerhouse whose abilities centered on strength, durability, combat skill and an ability to expel a blast centered on him outward. Later appearances added ranged energy blasts, a power not associated with him at the outset. His time traveling/teleportation is more sporadic and associated with his scientists on Machus equipment.
For this build, I chose to emphasize Mahkizmo’s traditional role as a physical juggernaut and warrior. While writer’s creative license often leads to new abilities over time, this version reflects the powers that most consistently defined the character in his original appearances. Odin Redux!

Odin Redux! This profile redux was inspired in part by Brennan O’Regan’s interpretation of Odin on the Ultimate Fantastic Rolls website. It also grew out of research conducted while creating a profile for Seth, which led me to reexamine Odin’s official statistics and abilities. This version of Odin includes several adjustments intended to better align his traits and powers with the game’s mechanics. The official profile lists Odin as Big but does not include the corresponding Trait or its associated effects. Additionally, Odin’s Ego has been increased to improve the effectiveness of powers such as Bolts of Balthakk and Dispel Spell, which rely heavily on Ego checks and attack rolls. Powerful Hex has also been added alongside Odin’s Power Control powers to better emulate the versatility of the Odinforce (All-Power).
The accompanying Gungnir profile should be treated as a “Borrowed” Iconic Item under the Iconic Item rules. Since Odin uses the spear only about 20-30% of the time compared to his innate powers and the Odinforce, it has not been factored into his character sheet and may be added or removed at the Narrator’s discretion. Nekra, Black Talon, and Voodoo Zombies!

Nekra and Black Talon! Since I already built the Mandrill, it felt natural to follow up with Nekra, which eventually led me to Black Talon. From there, I decided some sort of Zombie Control power was needed. To keep things simple and consistent with the Marvel Multiverse RPG, I adapted the Animal Control powers from Tony’s Workshop into a zombie-themed alternative. I also included a brief explanation of the distinction between infectious zombies and traditional voodoo zombies. Finally, I’ve provided character sheets featuring more modern art interpretations of both characters. Mandrill!

Mandrill! He is a manipulative leader and battlefield disruptor with his ability to coerce and control women with his pheromones. His solid Melee and Agility scores make him a capable street-level combatant, while his Ego score and Traits like Beguiling, Presence, and Public Speaking generate the Edges needed to support his signature Spider Pheromones power. Although his pheromones only affect female characters, they become far more effective when combined with the social advantages granted by his Traits. His Martial Arts powers provide mobility and control options, but Mandrill is most dangerous when using charisma, manipulation, and devoted followers to overwhelm heroes rather than relying on direct combat. Encounter Charts!

I’m continuing to update these encounter charts. I’ve provided a few sample pages in this post to tease what’s in the link. These encounter charts are designed to create fast-moving situations, dangerous complications, and dramatic choices that can be dropped into nearly any Marvel Multiverse RPG session. Roll randomly, choose what fits best, and let the action unfold. Don’t forget to check here https://www.fuzzyonthedetails.com/profiles for characters profiles that don’t have official builds yet and/or variations on ones that do. Lastly any additions, advice, and/or critiques would be appreciated that can help improve this resource. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WgvnfMbdXQuFf0IxHB9LYU7mJCpuvD7Z/view?usp=drivesdk

Gibbon and Grizzly!

Gibbon and Grizzly! Martin Blank (Gibbon) is the ultimate underdog—dismissed as a joke, but far more capable than he appears. With ape-like agility and surprising strength, he fights unpredictably and refuses to stay down. He’s an agile, scrappy threat who wins through persistence.
Max Markham, the Grizzly, is pure brute force. His bear-themed exosuit boosts his strength and durability, letting him tear through enemies head-on. He’s a straightforward powerhouse built to hit hard and keep coming. He also uses some of his wrestling acumen to his full advantage in his suit. Porcupine and Bison!

Porcupine and Bison! I built Porcupine a long while back before the new Battle Suit rules from the Avengers Expansion. The Counterstrike Technique emulates when someone punches/hits his spiny armor. Also, the Effects options may not make sense, but it’s actually the condition gained from a Fantastic Success that emulates his various offensive options from his quills.
