HOW DO YOU MAKE A FUNFETTI CAKE WITHOUT THE SPRINKLES MELTING

i am generally a pretty good baker but the other day i made this VILE abomination that i thankfully dont have a picture of.

i used my normal sprinkles because i was craving a
funfetti cake but it came out looking like a musty swamp LOL. HOW do people make these pretty cakes without the sprinkles melting and sinking and clumping HELP
