Questions about switching from SpaceX
Hello all, currently I work at SpaceX in Starbase, TX as a NDE Inspector. Im very new in my career but since I've been here I'm PQ'd in VT across multiple welding processes, Type 2 Liquid Penetrant, Wikiscan, and I am a State Radiography Trainee. A few further PQs I have gained are Rope User and Explosive Ordinance Handler (ATF approved).
I am seeking to switch over to Blue to be closer to my family in FL while also keeping myself in the aerospace industry. I have a true passion for working on space flight and throughly love what I do as an inspector. I browsed Blue's career page and found a posting for a RT Lvl 2 position, after reading the description there was a part encouraging me to apply if I did not meet all of the qualifications. I sent the application and a recruiter reached out to me to schedule a screening call this Tuesday.
My question is considering all I have are PQs and not actual certifications will Blue still consider me for a developmental role? Also, What should I expect from the interview process should I move to the next round? I have my IRRSP exam application pending review so I should be ready to take the exam in the next couple of weeks. Since I have been at Starbase I have been hands on inspecting Starship. I really want to land this opportunity I'm just concerned due to the lack of certifications I might not have a chance. Any feedback or advice is welcome. Thank you for your time!
