First of all this sub appear on my feed idk why. I remember i used to watch Indian soaps years ago when it use to be good.

Serials like: Iss pyaar ko kya naam doo

Jodha Akbar

Mahabharat (starplus)

Qubool hai.

Even balika vadhu was good

Mostly stories with strong female characters. Other serials are mostly saas bahu drama.

Now in big 2026 we still getting same saas bahu drama series. No improvement. Empowerment nothing. Just women sacrificing everything and her life revolving about man. If she choose herself then they show her as selfish.

Even we having series like naagin. Naagin 1 was good. After than it went downhill.

Like in mangalakshmi husband cheated. But instead of kicking that man ass fl still calling him adit JI. 🤡

2 women fight over one man

Now this trope is so common in Indian serials

Udariya ( instead of chasing dreams they were chasing man who wasn't even worth it)

Parineeti ( again same doormat behavior)

How soaps normalize problematic behavior.

Series like bhabhi ji and tarak mehta. Married men ogling at other women shown as comedy.

Angry young men trope, abusive male are normalized. Men with mommy and daddy issues take it out on FL. Instead of getting therapy. FL love heals them.

My question is. Who is core audience of these serials now.?

How people not getting bore with monotonous story lines. (Angry young man falling for innocent shy woman).

Why normalizing pedo series like sehar hone ko hai ( disgusting and problematic)

Why indian people don't demand better storyline, script and overall quality?.

In time of netflix series, korean series, chinese series and thai bl gl. We still getting soaps of saas bahu drama. Rather than ambitious independent woman arc. Audience are behind or people making these dramas are. Not catching up with new generation.
