Asbestos lamp gasket?

Asbestos lamp gasket?

Took down an industrial light fixture in an old factory and this was the gasket between the light base and the glass shade. The light base is most likely pre-1950's above a small engine that likely produced heat.

Might be too hard to tell from the picture, and not worried about exposure - just genuinely curious. I don't plan on lab testing as I left the gasket and only snapped this picture.

Thanks in advance!

Some of my favorites.

Most of these are industrial signs - majority came from industrial sites that don't exist anymore.

The "slippery when wet" sign reads "Ready Made Sign Co" on the bottom - I was really excited to find that one recently.

Looking for more info on these vintage floor candelabras (USA/WI)

Hey all,

Looking for some more info and a rough date on these floor candelabras I recently purchased from a church demolition sale. Judging by the cord material, I'm going to guess 1930's - but they could be older/newer.

The top appears hand carved, but the cord and staples on the underside of the base make me think otherwise. Also curious about how this was powered. I'm pretty confused since there's no visible electrical visible from the broken candles, and since there's melted wax near them. Maybe it started out powered, went to regular candles, and then to plastic candles?

Any help is appreciated!
