why does it seem like everyone's writing dystopian stories?

on here, and a bit of other subredditss I've seen, there were multiple instances of stories just being dystopian in total. of course I'm not against dystopian stories, I've liked a few myself, but it's kind of like we're all just, like doing that.

i feel like we aren't really expanding to other types of stories, there are a lot of genres that we can explore outside of dystopian fantasies.. but it may just be me. there are some people that's not writing dystopian yh, just my inquiries.

🤷‍♂️

i just started shading + lighting, watched a couple of videos on it. but i think I need more help-- tips on improving this?

cat

i was imagining the light source from below, but I really REALLY need help on shadows. if i got my light a bit nailed down, where am i supposed to place the shadows? i could define the light too yeah, it's muddied cause it doesn't hurt my eyes. (I genuinely use darker colors because lighter ones hurt my eyes. sorry)

the pic is blurry too, I have no idea why

forever thanking God that after 3years, i found out there was something called gesture drawings 💔 (body gesture and a bit of perspective practice + struggle with anatomy, tips?)

wasn't using reference except for the first one, so everything else is a bit wonky cause it was straight from my head. but i still have no idea how I've NEVER heard a peep of "gesture drawings", which I think that's the name for it.

my pen was dying out , and im tryna work on faces, so it's all back drawings of a panther jumping. not a cat relating to warriors, but a big feline. same thing right 🤷‍♂️?

anyways I need a bit of advice for anatomy too, and how I should apply it in this case 😭 ty for any responses too

I originally made her quite exoticly plain in a now deleted (?) drawing,, because every Asrarclan cat look better than average but theyre still plain.

and I found it through the FOURTH slide that she had a weird tail, and that tail originates not from Asrar, but from Equoreal. So that means shes not just exotic, she's insanely pretty. (And she's possibly related to one of the families that will soon became a leading family, where those types of tails are valued in the clan. but she stifled it out, that's why it barely appears to be what was mentioned in the text).

So I redesigned her and I'm glad she's saying in a book. I am not drawing her like that again.

I can't wait to write more of her though ✌️
