Housing advice for breeding groups
I have a vacant 36x18x18 and I’ve been looking for new inhabitants. I have had success breeding different species of geckos (crested, chameleon and neons) and I’ve been thinking about dipping my toes in something that’s not a gecko.
Particularly I’ve been looking at two species: ocellated, red eyed crocodile and Kenyan zebra skinks. (But I am very open to other recommendations!)
I like all three, but I have some concerns about them:
- Red-eyed crocodile skink: prone to stress
- Ocellated skink: breeding stress on females when housed with a male
- Kenyan zebra skink: the tank being minimal in space, if not too small
I was wondering if my concerns are valid and the best way to mitigate them, particularly with ocellated skink if a 1:2 ratio would be adequate. (Been finding it difficult to find advice about breeding them and mitigating stress)
