Self check-in kiosk always fails for me on SQ (but not other airlines). Anyone else faced this?

SG citizen here. Every time I fly SQ, out of Changi or elsewhere, the self check-in kiosk rejects me after scanning my passport and tells me to go to the counter instead. This doesn't happen on other airlines - only SQ.

The odd part: when I get to the counter, staff can't find anything wrong. Check-in goes through smoothly, no flags, no explanation.

I've emailed SQ customer service and visited the service counter at ION Orchard. My guess was a mismatch between my passport details and what's in their system, but they've confirmed there's no discrepancy.

It's a minor annoyance but a consistent one. When I travel with my wife or other SG passport holders, I'm always the one who has to queue for a manual check-in while everyone else breezes through the kiosk.

Has anyone experienced this or know what might be causing it? Open to suggestions on how to actually get it fixed. Thank you.
