Garden planning / journal app recommendations ?

I’m trying to decide on an app to use for garden planning and everything garden related but I can’t trust online reviews because of AI slop. Anyone have a tried and true app they love.

Features I’m looking for:

  1. Seed inventory list
2 grid style planning / map
  2. Seed wishlist
  3. Month by month to do lists
  4. Date traceable notes for specific plants or tasks

Are my fall seedlings leggy? It’s my first time growing from seed.

I’m doing a fall garden for the first time this year. I started some seeds indoors and I take them outside when it’s not too hot so they get real sun as much as possible and they are under grow lights I few inches above the plant and set to the brightest setting for 12 hours when Indoors. I even have an oscillating fan on them periodically.

I thought I was doing everything right to prevent them getting leggy but I’m thinking they still might be. Anyone have more experience with brassica seedlings that can reassure me I’m not screwing this up?

Future plans for backyard placement opinions wanted.

We are living in a rental house in the suburbs nearish the Hillsboro airport on Oregon. We plan to stay for at least 2 years but realistically it’s going to be 5 or more years before we can save for a down payment.

We were given permission by the landlord to make any changes we want to the backyard so long as we leave it behind when we move or return the yard to a maintained lawn if we try to take the beds and soil with us.

We are buying 2 cheap corrugated metal 1 foot tall raised beds 4 x 8 feet wide and hopefully put them together and filled with a truckload of basic raised bed soil mix from a local landscaping company in time for a nice fall garden.

Next year we hope to put in the other beds on the southeastern side of the yard from the same materials so they look cohesive and the landlord will be happy with the changes. They recently had 2 sick cherry trees and a bush removed and the stumps ground down. I since we planned to make drastic changes we haven’t been doing much with the yard maintenance besides cutting the grass. They offered to have grass put down where the trees were but I asked about putting in garden beds instead and got permission.
So the yard looks neglected right now Any thoughts on placement of the beds? The grid is 1/2 inch per foot and we will be removing the existing garden bed in the northwest corner because they are too difficult to reach the back of it to harvest or weed.

Unfortunately the fences are all solid wood and 6 feet tall so the light will not be ideal but anything growing is better than plain grass.

What do I need to do with or add to soil after having a stump ground down ?

We had 2 stumps ground down below the soil level a couple months ago. The area is pretty clay heavy and slow to drain so it probably helps with that.

I’d like to turn this area into a vegetable garden bed but I know I will need to do something to balance the soil I just don’t know what to add to balance out all the wood chips. I can sift out some of the wood chips but it would take a long time to get most of it out. If possible I want to get some fall crops in (zone 9 a)
